Hi!

My name is Aartje9, but you can call me Isaac. Nice to meet you all!

I came across AoC quite randomly while browsing Youtube and I have to say - I was kind of hyped instantly.
Then I frightened myself.

Last time I was this hyped for a game I came across BDO (Black Desert Online, a Korean MMO). I got insantly hyped, pre-ordered the game and started tuning in to anything and everything the game's studio was doing. We got promises like "No pay2win" and "Huge endgame!" but eh, yeah, that proved to be quite different in the long run. A good lesson was to be learned, though; <em>Do. Not. Hype.</em>

Now, that does not mean I am forever butthurt. Upon seeing that Youtube video I felt something I haven't felt for a MMO in a long time. <strong>Hope.</strong> If there's ever been a game that ever so resembles a concept of 'The Chosen One', it's AoC. In concept, this game will be a safe haven to all of us mentally-scarred, trust issue having MMO RPG players. <strong>If</strong> the devs can keep their promise of not implementing any kind of Pay2Win, this game will probably be my home for the years to come.

I am skeptical. I am hopeful. (I am way too overly dramatic.)

I dont think you will have to worry about the devs falling into the P2W trap as in an interview Q&A they have expressed that they hate where other games turning to P2W have ruined the game and ruined the fun in it. So I can say it is safe to hype this game, as there is ensured decisions on never having P2W, hence the subscription fee.

Hello there.
I got on the hype train lately with No Mans Sky. And while I do enjoy the game a lot (AFTER two huge updates) I must admit I felt dissapointed and cheated a bit.

I am cautious now. I am trying not to get hyped. I really hope devs will not try to rush things, and think all through. It is obvious we have to expect delays and bugs. But if whole project works it might be MMO we all are waiting for.
I am watching you... don't screw it up OR ELSE... I will be sad :(.

:D HI THERE ISAAC awesome to meet you, i know the feeling dude and yah Black Desert waasssss kind of a bummer, but in Ashes of Creation it is a well created game, good mechanics, play style. the game developers have other perspective of the game, they intended to make the game more player driven, that's why they did subscription base and etc, so yah everything is gonna be alright :)
