Heya everyone! Well, I guess i should start by introducing myself! My name is Highgrade, Aka Belzera through quite a few MMOs. I've been hooked on MMORPGs for quite some time now, starting with Runescape, then onto Vanilla WoW when it launched. Still play WoW to this day. Also have dabbled in other MMOs such as Guild Wars, ESO, and a few others. I am REALLY looking forward to AoC. Im needing something to break my from Blizzards chains. Lol!

Really im posting this to the RP community out there. Im curious as to how RP friendly the game will be. It looks like it can be VERY immersive thus far, with the player housing and the building of nodes and all. Im rather excited, really. Does anyone have any info or anything pertaining to how RP friendly the game may or may not be? (:

This will probably be one of the most RPG friendly MMORPG's you will ever stumble upon. I dont know what you in particular are looking for when it comes to roleplay, but professions, nodes, housing, guilds, caravans and even a dynamic world that adapts to the choices and actions you take awaits you. You can be a wandering mercanary, or the friendly blacksmith from across the road.
In the end it all depends on what the community makes of it though. Roleplaying has always been optional, we can just hope that there wont be any bugs or exploiding players who ruin our immersion :D

Yep, uber hyped to RP here. And I'd be even happier if the devs confirm these mechanics about pets/mounts that I have listed <a href="https://www.ashesofcreation.com/forums/topic/petmountcompanion-obtaining-quest-idea-some-mechanics-related-to-it-2/">here</a>.

Roleplay will mostly be down to the community. Yes the game mechanics will help but at the end of the day, good RP comes from the players, not the game. Hopefully when we get the new official website and forums there will be an RP section where we can do story-based word RP, to tie us over until the game releases. Of course, we have next to no concrete information regarding the lore of the world so far so RPing is next to impossible right now.

You will find quickly forming RP guild in the guild section of the site. There are more and more of us RPers showing up by the day.

I was so happy to get this message from Steven. While it didn't answer all of my questions on the subject, it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside to know that our lead developer is also an avid RP'er.

For whenever the forum's RP springs up on the AoC website here, we have a new home!
