Dungeons

I watched the Video involving the Devs talking about how dungeons could be different on each server based on Player choices, but im just interested in how that might effect Loot, like will the loot be the same regardless of the enemies or will loot be Enemy specific when it comes to dungeons? (I know they said in the video the loot could be different i just want to get others thoughts on it)

    No one knows yet how loot will look. I posted a topic already talking about how loot should work.

  • I would love a difference in loot, especially when it comes to equipment. I am not sure if there will be unique equipment, and when i say unique i mean unique like for one player only, but i hope there will be. If so the variaties in PvP would be endless and it would always be exciting fighting a new opponent.
  • Biggest things I want to see from dungeons are random mobs and more aggressive mobs. Is there a healer? Is there a high dps mob? Is there a mob that'll silence our healer? These are question I don't want to know the answer to in advance like we do in almost every other mmo out there. I think we players should have to figure these things out while in combat (unless we're sneaky enough to not be detected). We should be able to do so by looking at the actions and equipment of the mobs.

    Really gear that has stats on it should be bought from Crafters. Yea gear should drop in Dungeons but it should the exact same as crafted here. However Glamour items should be the core gear that drops out of Dungeons on top of a lot of gold. This will allow developers to let crafters make gear that has different stats while focusing on keeping the gear all looking the same. But if you want a different look go run a dungeon for that glamour piece or buy it off a vendor, or off the cash shop.

    It also pushes dungeons away form what they are today and that is a treadmill.
  • I somewhat want Dungeon specific Gear being unique and Crafters also having something Unique in maybe the way the gear looks but i also believe there should be a high quantity of Gear styles so that everyone can feel unique maybe later in the game adding a transmog system similar to WoW's one instead of GW2 i prefer having to go somewhere to do it over just doing it in my inventory it almost takes away the fun of it, then again to go on crafters it would be nice to give crafters the ability to transmog gear for people.
  • I think I heard that dungeons may change, which I think is great. This is because static dungeons become something you just have to memorize and that takes a lot of the fun out of doing dungeons. I'm also pumped for the different traps in the game to keep players on their toes! As for gear I hope most of the drops are crafting materials so that crafters are needed.
  • Yeah the Idea that the dungeon may change locations is very cool and interesting cant wait to see what they pull off and what it is that players do to affect dungeons and can we then control dungeons working together as a server? :D

    The problem is if you drop unique gear off of dungeon bosses you get the same problem you have now with MMORPGs which is that people run Dungeons for gear because crafting is not important. If they want any focus on crafting they have to go back to older systems where the main way of getting gear is crafting. Now you can drop Glamour gear off of bosses, and chest of loot and even crafting mats. The Minute we start focusing on gear off of bosses for gear we turn this game into a Treadmill just like WOW and FFXIV. So the question because why would I leave FFXIV for another gear treadmill. Answer is I will not.
  • I agree with you thats what i ment by WoW, like how people do the transmog runs but instead you'd be doing it for similar drops but it could be like a blueprint you can get for a cool looking piece of gear that you can now craft etc.
  • I almost hope that there is Enemy specific loot, But i guess we will see :)
  • dungeon bosses could drop recipes and stuff instead of weapons and armour that way they are still good to run and crafting is ruined like in all other mmo's
    or rare pets or something would be cool too.... although not sure how that would affect husbandry/taming.
    maybe just cosmetic outfits :)
