Just wanted to share my thought about how great the devs of AoC were

When I was thinking about what made MMORPGs die - and a lot of online games also suffered from this for a long time - I came to a conclusion: Static content equals to Death of the game. When a game has a long gap of time without polishing its content or adding new features or renewing itself, he dies.

Then I was thinking about why MOBAs got so popular and it is because the exactly opposite reason the MMOs were dying, MOBAs
had constant updates, so a character that is strong now may not be in 3 patches later and those 3 patches will come in a short period of time compared to other games. You may not like the system of buffs and nerfs they have - for example LoL, one week character X is OP, 2 weeks later he is trash and Y is OP - but this creates the feeling of the game always being new, so you can't stop learning how to play or else you will fall behind and not get a good ranking or just suck and lose, no one likes to lose. With this it's clear that the game renewing itself is a great way to keep the game alive and the player interested in playing.

Then it comes Ashes of Creation and the great idea of making a world that reacts to the players, this means the game will keep renewing itself without the need of the creators to directly make new content, on day X you and your guild can control a castle near a node, you all have the complete line of production of a special type of armor everyone would like to have, so you all profit, but on day X+50, the node your guild had was destroyed by the alliance of two other guilds that didn't like yours, now your guild fight as bandits to destroy the caravans of this guild alliance because they are the ones that controls the production since they have a far away node producing this armor. This event can happen in the game, it's something that every player and there is a chance that even the whole server would know about and the devs didn't have to touch one finger so it could happen, the world changed, the roles changed, the game renewed itself.

I hope I made my point clear, maybe it's not even that impressive, but I thought it was a great move by the devs, so I had to share my thoughts.

Im sure all here share your excitement for the game and are looking forward to it. The Devs have done great work so far, and if all works out as planned, this will surely become one revolutionary MMORPG.

When EverQuest Next died prematurely right before my eyes, i felt like i died inside and all glimmer of hope turned to ashes. I had hoped that I will finally feel the enormous rush i did when starting WoW for the first time, but MMORPG's were all just cloned copies of one another with no real soul and feel anymore. Then i heard recently about this new game called AoC and grudgingly i checked out the reviews. At first i was a little distant cause iv heard it all before, but after seeing the first devs Q and A, i suddenly felt a swell of emotions and excitement course through my body as if i had awaken from a bad dream. Now i have begun to prepare myself for this masterpiece and boldly face all the challenges that will await me in that new world.
Come join me and my Pack. Its more fun when we are together.
