Subscription Based?
Will this game be subscription based, as in having to pay monthly? I didn't see anything about it in the forums so I was just curious.

Please, try to use "search" next time. If every new member will make topic, there will be spam :)

Think of it as 'forum activity'.

This, sub based models keep games P2W-free and ensure the development team remains active enough to put out continued content after launch. I shouldn't imagine people would have an issue paying monthly if the game is good enough.

LOTRO had a lifetime subscription pay option when they first went online.
I understand they want to contribute, however i'll ask some of my friends to play this game once this game is out.
So it will be free for me x)
Prior I was a LOTRO player and they went F2P from a sub model and well the game got worse IMHO. Im not looking to cast my judgement Im just looking for official commentary (if it exists) on how this dev team perceives subscriptions and what they plan for the future. The game has piqued mine and my gaming guilds interest but we are leary of pricing models. There is no right or wrong way, we just have a preference, which is a subscription based game.
Thats exactly whats being advertised here, so far.
If you know of any links that would address my question I would appreciate it. We are currently looking at the dev teams history as well, that should provide a good barometer.

Thank you.
Thats what LOTRO and ESO were (mostly) and they became something else. Hence why I asked for any data forum goers might have beyond the faq, which I did read.
For us, time investments into MMORPG's are pretty steep. As a group we do play other games but usually commit to a game and stick with it for years (LOTRO - Gw2 - ESO). We have multiple years invested into each of those titles, some players are hitting 10 with lotro. With the exception of GW2, the other two changed pricing models AFTER the initial decleration which dramatically impacted the gaming environment in our view.
We dont have experience with this particular team and while we are interested this is a point we are trying to vet as throughly as we can up front.
Thank you again for the reply. Does anyone else know of any commentary or historical reference on the developers that they can link and we can read about that might provide us more data to draw a more informed conclusion?
Thank you.
