To me, it's about their behaviour and the things they do/say and why they do them. If someone ganks me in a game for example, they're probably just having fun, that's not toxic to me in the slightest, but if they start saying stuff like "ur trash fkin kys lol ur trash so bad" .. then I think less of the person. I've had people call me a "race traitor" in PvP games before, because my clan had an alliance with a Hong Kong clan and we were fighting together against these guys who were white (like me). If that's not toxic behaviour I don't know what is. I would totally agree sandbox pvp games attract toxic people. Lots of great people too. Any game with the freedom to do whatever you want will have those kinds, but that's part of what I like about total anarchy. The universe works the way it does. Those people create themselves a lot of enemies, and I've always been able to use that to my advantage to wipe them from the face of the game. As for AoC, I'm just not worried it will be toxic at all in comparison to what I'm used to and comfortable with. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on what is and isn't toxic and all that other stuff, but I have 0 concerns when it comes to AoC.
