Unlike you I can actually prove my group and I didn't hide on an island in Archeage as a solo pirate. Feel free to go look at some of our old videos in my thread.

Part of the game and I have taken part of this many of times. Griefing is based on harassing a player, making progress hard or impossible because you feel like it. Usually done by higher level players against lower level players. No one goes red (unless they screw up), they just make your time in game a nightmare because they can... basically a bully who you have no chance winning against in the specific time and place. You will not see it early in game, because 99% of player base is within a few levels of each other, and they are busy leveling or accomplishing goals.

You do realise that the corruption mechanic is in place to stop griefing?

You do realise that the corruption mechanic is in place to stop griefing? Sigh..... You do realize that griefing can be done without going corrupt? Corruption is put in place to stop full on murdering someone who is not fighting back, it has nothing to do with harassing people. Flagging is not going corrupt. I played Lineage 2 for years... This is the exact same system. I know how it works, I know tricks to get people to go corrupt on accident.. .I know how to not go corrupt and piss people off to the point they log out... Trust me, I know how it works.

I did play Lineage 2, and the systems are similar, but there's some basic differences that keep it from being "The same". When you Purple, you go Purple to everyone, not just your attacker/attackee for example. Beyond what's listed here, anything else is speculation.https://ashes101.com/pvp#corruption

Go ahead and read the link I posted I would really love to see what part you are reading.. because.... It works exactly like I said. If you hit me and go purple, you are purple to everyone who can see you. You basically become free game to anyone in the area that wants to get involved. If you keep hitting me, without me fighting back and I die... you go red (corrupt)... and once again, you are free game to anyone who wants to try and kill you. If I hit you back after you go purple.. I turn purple as well.. saying I am willing to fight, we will fight... and neither player will go red (corrupt) if they win. That is the risk reward in this game.. If you risk going purple... you risk getting jumped by anyone in the area.

His concern is the griefing gold sellers cause to make $$. Stay on topic. Personally I am not too worried about cheaters if there will be active GMs and account bans. 2) Nothing wrong with using a great system from another game in order to make a better game, because AoC will be better since it will have more systems, modern graphics and gameplay, bigger map and more player decision factor. However so far nothing has topped L2 in open war pvp and wars. AoC is open world PvP. L2 was open world PvP. The flagging system is copy paste. All this "AoC isnt L2 or AoC isnt wow" just shows your hostility to a new community member. It's not you showing support for IS devs and their work. If you are tired of talking about things that have been discussed before, skip the thread.

Lineage 2 is not ashes of creation But the PvP flagging and corrupt system was taken from that exact game.. ask Steven. There is a major difference. If I cast an AoE in Ashes and you walk in to it, it doesn't do any damage to you. Currently, the only way to get corruption in Ashes is to kill a player that isn't fighting back. In order to force corruption on a player, you would need to cause them to kill a player they didn't intend to kill. Since I cant damage a player without enabling that, you cant force me to kill someone I do not specifically chose to allow my abilities to do damage to. Now, if you have another way in which corruption can be forced on others, let us all know. Either we will tell you why you are mistaken, or we will attempt to get it addressed in alpha.
