When it comes to Ashes though, all of the 'lore' will be used to give loose reasoning as to why certain races, mobs and mechanics exist. That's about it. The game is a sandbox at heart, can't change that. And really, nobody should play an MMO for the story, we've got singleplayer games for that.

The thing with games like WoW is that it´s been out for years now and had the time to build that lore. But with how Steven talked about the game I think he is pretty invested in the lore so I guess we don´t have to worry on that front. Let´s wait for the release and see how it goes.

Even the website don't describe anything at all, so it's very hard for me to feel connected. I just see a world with... things on it, without any context, any story.. I don't know if it's supposed to be a sandbox, but in any case, we need a setting.
