So based on what was described in the last live stream, caravans will be safe when they reach a certain point in the journey close to the next node. Is there any type of fee associated with moving from node to node beyond the fee of construction? or is it once its built and its good until you get to your final destination?

Caravaneers are going to be in enough danger of losing everything as it stands.
Yeah, I think this is it. Its on the wiki somewhere, but they had an Alpha 1 screenshot of what the 'menu' from the Caravan hiring building looked like.
