Some players sole purpose in MMOs are to disadvantage other players! Depraved mentioned above that you could possibly kill that player with 40 others, and kinda "grief" them yourselves, but that just promotes griefing. And with the corruption system you still might be penalized for killing your griefer. Being able to blacklist nefarious players from your tavern would incentivize that nefarious player to not act so nefariously.

Ideally one should be able to punish another by killing in open world with some reward to the winner and some loss for the killed one.
