Throne & Liberty : finaly so different (edit)

"Get out fast AoC or you’ll be overtaken by Throne & Liberty" I’ve seen this comment many times. now I’m sure these two games don’t have much to do with it.

For my part, botting options are absolutely repulsive, and the opposite of what I look for in an MMO, namely the investment and the value it gives to the gaming experience.

Pwahahaha who wants to pay a battle pass to activate offline boting? Paying for not playing is great : the inovation of the century

In short, fully supports the AoC project, take the time I trust in your passionate approach!

Edit : My original title / post was definitely uninspired and toxic. On a better day today, I prefer to avoid that;)

Yeah I figured so at the time. I used my free hour trying to download countless times so my refund went out of the window unfortunately. Never did manage to play with my American friend lol.

I'm somewhat curious now.

Did you get any download at all, or nothing?

There was a known issue at some points with the Steam version of the game having issues with the downloader. It would download about 2gb (out of 16), and claim the game was installed. Then it just wouldn't launch from the Trion launcher.

There was nothing about this that was related to region though, so I doubt its the issue you had.

Big? TL is probably still the closest. There's AA2, Riot mmo, Ashes, Pax Dei, Star Citizen - but pretty much all of those are most likely years out from release.

During the accompanying investor call, the company also talked up future releases, namely ArcheAge 2 and Ares: Rise of Guardians.

Kakao Games has narrowed down ArcheAge 2’s launch window from sometime in 2024 to the second half of the year. The studio also confirmed that the Unreal Engine 5-powered sequel will be launching on both PC and consoles.

I'm fucking loling. Lmaoing. Hell, I'm pretty much KEKWing right now.

Amazon is trying to remove owpvp, implement pve dungeons and want to remove autoplay in a game that's, at its core, is built around hardcore grind (though that is apparently changing too, considering the last update).

In other words, TL will be an absolutely different game and will not be a direct Ashes competitor in the western gaming scene.

they said no pvp at night without a karma system. so maybe there will be one xD
auto play or not, dont care. you progress faster manually anyways. kind of wanted to auto farm some stuff at work haha the boring quests, you know.

Autoplay implies hardcore grinding requirements. And when your whole economy is built on people grinding hardcore, I'd imagine it won't be as easy to simply flip the entire system on its head and remove both the grind and the autoplay.

This is pretty much New World all over again. Years of making one game, just to end up changing the entire design at the very last moment. The game will still flop, just for another reason.

eh if you remove autoplay, you could lower the amount of mats it takes to make something, increase dropchances, etc. but it depends, since there will be lots of people playing, even rare stuff will drop often. this probably promotes commerce more. who knows. we dont know how to get stuff at max level.

ill still give it a try, since its free. but wont spend any money on it, most likely i wont

That's cause you're not the target audience of Ashes. And also why I said "direct competitor". Obviously it'll compete against Ashes for people's attention, but, as have been discussed on these forums before, pretty much anything will compete against Ashes to a small or big degree.

lol get New World'd. I think it might be able to just be called the Amazon Treatment now. But the carebearization of mmos has been going on long before either New World or Amazon's entry into gaming. It's just that New World was such a profound example of it that it became it's own verb.

I dunno, I read the article. (To be honest with you I lost all interest in TL months ago, even before this.) But I read the article and it doesn't seem to be getting rid of all owpvp elements. Definitely sounds like the Western version will be much more carebear than the Korean one though.

That sucks if you had hopes for TL and it being a Lineage successor. Sounds like thats out the window now. And the "options" on the horizon we appeared to have several months ago are certainly dwindling. For me, it's just Ashes and Pax Dei now. Maybe a glimmer of hope in Archeage 2, but past history tells me not to count on it.

Yeah, I had hoped to have it a timekiller before A2, but, after learning that Amazon doesn't understand the difference between Ukraine and Russia, I'm just looking at the car wreck of a publishing process. I got real hyped by what I saw during the streamable beta of TL, but I won't be able to play it either way, so whatever.

maybe you are the niche? i mean, isnt your profered playstyle exploration? like you dont really care about other stuff too much, just explore every inch of the map. that seems more niche to me than a pvx mmorpg
