Block list for healing

Since you can loose exp and resources when dying it might be a bit stressful for some people to play on cleric
When someone in your party die and loose resources he can(will for sure) blame you for that

I want block list mechanic for healing (next gen for sure)
When someone in my block list he is not receiving healing from my AOE spells
If this mechanic will exist people will be SO polite to healers

its not a fun solution just because you think so. thats not how things work T_T

also, if healers get that, then tanks and dps should get a block list as well as i mentioned in my examples above.

also, healers / supports are usually the least played in any mmorpg...you wont change that.

You didnt give a reason as to why this would be the case.

In WoW, a group is 5 players. As such, a single healer and tank enables three other players to run grouo content.

In Ashes, groios are 8 players. A single healer and tank enables 6 other players to run group content.

As such, Ashes could sustain its group scene just fine with half the percentage of healers and tanks that WoW needs.

So, why is it you think this game will have a lack of healers?

I believe Area of Effect (AoE) healing should be exclusive to parties and guilds, and I don't see any problem with that. Random individuals should only receive healing through targeted healing, right?

how rewarding a lack of healers make healers more popular?

people play more supports / tank when they are on the OP side, not by adding a block list where you cant help your party members...

You are confused with many issues I see, there is more DPS because that is more popular for people. Rather than tanking or supporting people prefer to attack things.

You are trying to take a issue and create your own reason why there is less of them.

If you've been playing MMO's for 15 years, you are one of the lesser experienced MMO gamers on these forums.

Have you ever played an MMO with a group size of 8?

Did you consider the implications of that before posting?

Did you even know this was the case in Ashes?

While some of your healer friends may opt for different roles in Ashes, others will opt to be healers that previously werent.

Edit to add; in WoW, 80 players running group content would require 16 healers and tanks. In Ashes, that same number of players will only require 10 of each.

Hahahahahaha. You think that will increase the politeness and not the HOSTILITY instead?
Dude. Not like Intrepid will bring this into the game but using such a thing could backfire quickly.

Long long in the world of Mal'Ganis(Ger) in classic WoW 2004... the community knew many infamous individuals for all kinds of reasons.
And Healers with too much attitude too became branded.
There was no auto-queue into ANYTHING and if your servers community did not like you anymore, you had screwed up and there was pretty much no coming back from that.
Failing mechanics, dying, or being unable to safe your party is one thing.
But to do this INTENTIONALLY and maybe even produce whole wipes as a result, holy moly.

Just heal the insolents until the end and then part ways with them afterwards.
But midway? Could backfire quickly. Especially if people side against the healer.
Also I never saw anyone threaten others in random groups more than healers too.

Closely followed up by tanks.
Cause DPS are the most numerous and therefore correctly seen as the most replacable.

This whole talk about "not enough healers" has got me thinking that maybe this the good old Batman situation (and I'm not trying to be funny here): We don't get the amount of healers we want, we get the amount of healers we deserve. And this mechanic of "heal denial" doesn't really seem like it would increase the amount of people who would want to heal, it would increase the amount of people who would want to blackmail others to give them more benefits or they will sabotage groups mid-run, leading to them ending up on block lists. The end result would be more healers on block list with no access to parties they even could heal and a new set of reasons to give up on healing.

To me it's not really a solution it seems more like an attempt to fix something with offering more power, which only shifts the issue of available healers to people who abuse power and refuse to do their job as healers.

But enough whining, maybe a proper ingame stat tool might help to display the the performance of other roles as well.

a tanks performance can be measured by damage redirected and prevented and percentage of aggro held
a DDs performance can be measured by a low amount of damage taken/high percentage of dodgeable damge being acoided and damage dealt to enemies
A healers perfomance can be measured by measuring amount of HP healed, by comparing HP restored to the amount of HP lost in the group
A groups overall performance can be judged by looking at DPS and comparing the maximum amount of evadable damage enemies emitted to the amount of damage the group received from avoidable sources.
