Being able to upload your own Pictures inside Portraits.

Be it inside Freeholds,

or "static Houses" inside of Nodes,

or "instanced living Rooms" like Apartments where "HOPEFULLY" Players can invite other Players into via Friendlist, Group-Invite or what else,

i hope dear Intrepid keeps this amazing Feature inside the Game, that People can decide and upload themselves into the Game, which Texture/Picture will be shown inside their Portraits.

Maybe, hopefully(?) - with a System that a GM must first approve of this, so People don't load up Dickpics and other Nonsense,

but imagine You can put a Picture of a beautiful Location You saw ingame, into a Portrait of your own Apartment, static House, or Freehold.

Or a Picture of your own Character drawn by someone like on Deviantart or elsewhere, by a neat Artist.

Or maybe a Picture of another Game, like V Rising, Enshrouded, or something else. Main Priority for me is, that it would fit the Fantasy-World Atmosphere. ;)

I am looking forward to this Feature same as for the Character Creator Moment. 😁

  • I recall hearing on a previous stream El Stevo saying that this would be an option. He's a fan.

And will have many portraits of himself in his expansive mansion.
The girl watched the last of the creatures die and murmured a soft 'Thank you' to her rescuer.

The stranger's eyes lifted to the blood red cloud on the horizon.

'We have to move. It's not safe here.'

This is something that was possible in Archeage.

Needless to say, most players don't use it to display anything worth looking at.

It's a cool idea, but would need to be restricted to some sort of in-game image library ONLY. I could see this go wrong pretty quick with Rated R images being uploaded if users have the freedom to upload whatever they want from their desktop.

Maybe it could be Intrepid-made illlustrations/artwork showing accomplishments from either titles or main-story quests.

Asking the internet to upload pictures is risky. Might need to hire a full time moderator for this feature 😅

Anytime you allow a user to upload any file into a cloud based system is risky without significant security.

I’d rather they just task their awesome art team to create an extensive catalogue of art to choose from.

  • From the Wiki

Players may place furniture, artwork/paintings and other decor items in their player housing.

Has been mentioned in several streams.

I mean it would be cool if folks could do that if they wanted to, in all seriousness

Sounds like a sad lack of Imagination and Creativity. ;)

No, there was a lot of imagination and creativity - it was a lack of maturity (which, honestly, we should all display a lack of maturity on occasion).

The thing to keep in mind with something like this is that you aren't only handing it to mature, creative artist types to make portraits of characters, scenes of battles, landscapes etc - you are handing it to everyone to find as many ways as they can to display a penis.

And this is exactly what they will do.

I actually don't really have an opinion either way on this, I am just pointing out the reality of what it would become. If you give people a means to display anything they want in game, someone will display a crudly drawn cock and balls within seconds.

It's definitely a nice feature to have. Yeah, Intrepid will have to spend money to monitor the imagery, but if people know they can lose their accounts if they upload porn or a swastika or the like, I doubt very many will.
