Lately, I've been exploring it, engaging with the community, and I must say, the level of negativity there has taken me by surprise. Understandably, it reaches a broader audience, but is this the audience we aim to attract? It seems like there's a significant portion of users who never have anything positive to say. I hope Steven and the team take the comments on Reddit with a pinch of salt and largely ignore the negativity. As a content creator, I'm also questioning the value of posting there. While I expect some disagreement with my videos, the habit of downvoting factual guides just for the sake of it feels incredibly immature. It leads me to believe this might be the gathering spot for anyone harboring an agenda against Ashes. Apologies for venting, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on the current atmosphere on Reddit. Am I being too critical, or do you think my observations are accurate?

Reddit's general populace is even more jaded than some of us here, so when they see a CC for Ashes they just think "wtf are they doing making videos for a game that doesn't exist". But instead of just ignoring those videos, they downvote them and maybe leave a negative comment, because that's usually what reddit culture leads to. It is possible to play the "reddit game" and win (majority of my comments there have positive values), but you gotta go out of your way to achieve that, which is definitely an absolutely pointless action currently.

Outrage and negativity prompts people to attempt to communicate or find validation for their perspective amongst others, contentment doesn't. In a way, it's why you made this post. The difference between you and them is which side of the fence they're on (and probably that you care a bit more about facts). For a cynical person, Ashes of Creation isn't really in a good place right now, so as Steven says, 'just wait, they'll come around'.

There are serious concerns considering A2 is 1 quarter away. The game looks fine zoomed out but zoom in and it looks tragic. On top of that, everything we see is from afar and never up close. The combat system is improved but still lacklustre. The animations look like a 2010 game and the movement is still lacking. The node upgrades are a black cloud which obscures everything from a distance and the toons still don't interact with the world in a convincing manner. Its like the parts have been made in isolation as I've stated before.

I disagree with your takes on the state of the game here, but more importantly, it sounds like you expect alpha 2 to be close to release. It really isn't. Even IF the things you said are true, alpha 2 is where you start working on fixing those things. It's not where the game needs to have them fixed prior. I guess a lot of the redditors don't know what an actual alpha is.
