The PvP moving forward

I want to point out that there drastically needs to be some Showcase of 1v1ing
Because group PvP is completely the counter part which will confuse players especially because by design 1 class should counter another this is not even capable or viewing in the current meta

I think I get what you’re saying, but a 1v1 PvP wouldn’t be an accurate showcase of much.

We know rock, paper, scissors is a PvP design pillar, but we’ve really only seen 3 rocks and a post-it so far. The statistics for damage output and mitigation haven’t been tuned to give an accurate feel for the 1v1 give and take. Third, the PvP isn’t being tuned to optimize or balance 1v1 encounters.

So showing 1v1 now isn’t really going to demo anything of substance.

1v1 got nothing to offer. The only offering is the 1v1 arena. Everything else is either small groups or big ones.

Alpha 2 is no NDA, @Evre1lovechat.

Once Alpha 2 starts, you’ll be able to see as much 1v1 as you would ever want via streams.

If you’re an Alpha 2 participant … even better.

The combat system is currently looking flashy/spammy to the point where classes will likely lose their identities and there will be potential that another class will fill the typical role another class would normally fill. Most MMO's take a little while for players to figure this out due to optimization and min/maxing but the current move sets seems this will be the case early on if the game released in its current state. The fighter's abilities can hit things outside the range of it's weapon's reach due to cone effects, and they can dash across the screen which will make weaker ranged classes more obsolete considering that it doesn't look like the ranged classes do a lot of damage. The mage class looks like it has to cycle through all of its spells a few times to kill one mob (spamming). A fighter could just dash around the battlefield and take down the mage with little to no repercussions. The mage would attempt to teleport away and likely continue to do little damage with the current spell stats. They should make the casters have spells with longer casting times, but do devastating damage, have better cc, and be able to manipulate the environment to create obstacles/illusions, etc. Their current spells don't look like they can nuke groups of mobs in an effective manner. If you turn the volume off of the videos the classes begin to merge due everyone having similar projectile effects. The ranger can also hit groups of enemies with ease. The spells in another MMO, DDO, used to be awesome until they ruined the game and made the game just be DO A LOT OF DAMAGE. This made all classes feel the same in its current state or made it where some classes were obsolete due to some classes not being able to do as much damage. Hopefully the game will feel different when playing in A2.

1v1 and all the other random wpvp encounters have an absolute tonne to offer. It's fun. And immersive too.
Out in the open world, competing for resources etc. The game won't (and shouldn't be) balanced around it but it's a huge part of the gameplay and appeal to many.

.. but, I also agree with @CROW3's point above that it wouldn't give us much in a showcase.

Am i a bad Person when i say - > as it should be. (?)

It's an MMO. Doing even Open World Content alone should be extr~EEEmely challenging and difficult. But i must say, the Showcase with the Minotaur Camp was simply doable even alone. Only when the Quest-Mob to assassinate was supposed to appear, Sir Steven needed help.

An MMO shouldn't be a Single Player with a huge Lobby. This is what made enough of WoW anti-social so that the Community became greatly anti-social. You still easily find Groups for Dungeons and Raids though.

And to end this Comment on a positive Note,
while i admit i have nagged and complained about a very toxic, anti-social Community in WoW for quite some Years since/after Mists of Pandaria hit the Stage,

i must admit here that it got somewhat better recently. I encounter way more friendly Players who are not nasty, vulgar and toxic. I appreciate it.

But it was bad and worse Years back. VEEERY bad and way worse than it is now. Also, "lol" - i wonder how much the new Terms of Service play a Role in it, that People can get in Trouble with the GM's simply for being nasty, disrespectful and toxic towards others.

How many have bettered their Tone towards others only out of fear of Consequences otherwise ?

If Ashes " FORCES " Players to help each other out - the better. People need to learn to appreciate having others nearby more and again. Not seeing other Players as just a possible Pest or Competition alone.

I do generally agree but also think this "MMO = perma group" thing is taken too far at times.

The example of WoW is a good one.. yes retail wow made you the hero and became v individualistic, with levelling totally dumbed-down.
But it didn't start that way.
Classic WoW (original and best) found a good balance; the game encouraged grouping and required it in many situations, but you could also enjoy solo play. The way it should be.

Would a high post count help promote YT?
But yeah they are some piss-poor responses, human or not.

well, are you gonna click on a video posted by some dude who just joined, who no one knows, or on a dude who is regular and you have interacted quite a few times?

if a random stranger asks you for a sub, outta nowhere, will you do it?
how about a friend uve known your whole life who wants to start a yt channel. would ou sub to him if he asked even if you don't watch his stuff?

part of selling is building a relationship with the customers. he Is just trying to build a fake relationship I think.

Personally I'll click a video if it looks of interest, and then sub or not based on the video. Really couldn't care less about someone's forum history. But I'm sure it is a factor for many, and does weed out spammers a bit.

    You have a point

Thanks. I just always try to point out, that this Game is not just a Multiplayer, but officially "massive" multiplayer Game.

While i can see the Plus Point in being able to solo +98% of the whole Game World alone without the need of the Mercy of Others,

it takes away the MMO-Aspect if we can raid and beat down every single Minotaur- and/or Goblin-Camp completely alone.

When we can take every Castle made out of Ruins alone. When we can beat down everything aside from a few Raid-Locations, like for Example the five Great Castles in the World of Verra which are told to hold quite the Influence over the Area's under their Dominion.

Did you miss the whole nuke meme lmao ?
Ranger do good dmg and they have tools to get away from fighters especially with a good tank infront of them. I rly dont see any issue here but before alpha 2 we cant rly say anything of substance.
    For the empyre !!!
