Bards res and Fighters Taunt

Fighter can off tank when a mob splits off and attacks the cleric or some other squishy class. This should be a skill you get for reaching level 5 to 10 as a core skill, not using points.

Clerics die and that leaves that always not getting a res. When a few people die. We all waiting on the cleric. Would be nice if Bards as a support class had an out of combat res. This is also great with things like raid wipes. Bards can start resing the dead clerics and other players over just standing their playing mana song. This should also be a core skill you dont need to spend points to get. Somewhere between level 5 and 10.

In other games, classes take a hit to their damage output in exchange for their ability to rez (like SMN, RDM in FFXIV). I'd rather not have a rez.

Tanks don't even get taunt without spending a skillpoint. It would make more sense to me that Tanks get taunt for free, and Fighters have to skill into it.

I don't have feelings one way or another about bards getting res, but it would be cool if having cleric as your secondary class allowed res.

Yes but don't their other skills have threat built in. Making it free would make sure every fight to taunt when the need is great.

It gives a 2nd tank and a 2nd cleric group value.
A 2nd bard already has HUGE value. And DPS can be loaded up on well beyond 2.

The answer is allow the tank to have a toggle to turn off the '+threat' on his abilities (not Grit) and have those abilities damage double.

I don’t want bard rez without a cleric subclass. These features should not be granted without some decision making and sacrifice on the players part.

I don't think this is being looked at by the needs of the game. If Cleric dies they never get a res. There is no back up in team with res. CC is covered by more then one class. Buffing same and heals. No other class has it. Cleric is very lonely with this.

I could see the bards getting the ability to res 1 target with the 'extended sagas' with a new combination. something expensive, awkward, has an opportunity cost, and effectively a long cooldown (Takes a full minute and a half to build stacks if after you've used it once)

Enough to fill a gap, but not enough to replace a cleric. (Bards can also heal pretty effectively if properly specced, don't want to take the entire job away)

I think it makes sense to put this aside and wait, to see what abilities archetypes get when their subclass is attached. I can imagine */CLR to have a rez and some healing abilities.

I'd also hate it if all classes were homogenised and played the same. Plus, there still has to be enough class identity when all 64 are in the game.

A BRD/RNG and a BRD/CLR should be like night and day.

You say 'lol' like this isn't actually the case... I either have 2 clerics or no clerics at all. No in between. (and the latter is rare and that's when I respec as the party's bard-healer)

I like your thinking but secondary class does not add new skills. It can change a skill to something different.

Well then make the Serenade buff a rez and incorporate the former buff into the main skill.

Right now we only have 6 classes, and the missing two are DPS. This makes 2-cleric and/or 2-bard groups more viable. Also, pugs sometimes have no clue. Making support more important for oh-crap moments.

Once we have 8 classes, a class balance goal (IMO) should be to make one of every class in the group an optimal setup for "general adventuring".

A 1-cleric group will need to have a backup rez option (scrolls, bards, (???)/cleric, etc). Hopefully this gets added in phase 2. I also wouldn't mind seeing a mana song scroll (not as good as bard melody obviously), but that's going to bring out the pitchforks.

btw surprisingly rangers make for quite effective tanks lol no one could pull agro off me and with aspect of the bear the mitigation was rather strong aswell

was tanking tower of carth at lvl 20 lol

Giving bard rezzes will be a bad idea imo in regards to pvp aswell imo.

they could add a res to one of the Saga combinations. Easy.

Hunt of the Bear is unironically better than Grit, since Grit causes tanks to do less damage and it's the same amount of mitigation (8%)
