DirectX 12 bug (Can't launch game)

I keep getting this error: "DirectX 12 is required to run this application. Please ensure your OS and graphics card support DirectX 12 and try again."

Note, I have direct X 12, and my drivers all say they support it, I have the most recent updates from windows, and all the drivers say they have the best update.

Any updates? Following as I have the same issue, my GPU supports dx12 however it is on the older side but I can play other dx12 games so it would be nice not to buy a new GPU for my PC and then before you know it a new PC :O. I have emailed my logs but any news or fixes would be awesome

This fix worked for me on a laptop.

Hi all! I was having a problem where my launcher wouldn't update due to DirectX 12 issues. After trying a lot of things we decided to try and install a Web version of DirectX 12 since the launcher works through the browser. After installing this the launcher and game fully updates again (here's the link to the download for DirectX 12 browser if you want to try it for yourself: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 )

The problem some people were having with the web version is that installing it leads a to message saying that an equivalent version of directx already exists on the computer. I don't know if anyone has found a solution for that yet...

Are there any updates regarding this? Was trying to install yesterday but encountered the same issue.

that gg i have gtx 980 on this card only 456.89 driver works other if install direct black screen and must take off ssd put other pc and restore system to run PC so i just pay 110 euro for game wat i cannot play....

Still an issue for me. I have an AMD Radeon R9 390, which supports DX12, installed the latest version with the web installer, and it still doesn't work.

Also, upgrading to windows 11 didn't help.

I had the same problem on a WIN 11 pro machine with a nidia 5090.
DX 12 was allready installed also the last driver.

I ran the dxwebsetup from the microsoft webside installing all old DX 9 versions also. After that the installer worked. Google it and use the first official microsoft download.

Maybe that helps.

i also ran into the same problem, was able to fix it by running the Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility and reducing my core performance ratio from 55 to 52. I think its my i9 13900Kf - i often run into problems with this processor even with the latest bios updates. Anyway hope it helps
