Mounts - the "need for speed" meta - time for a quick rebalance?

With the croc mount nerf / "fix" incoming, it might be time to explore how to make all mounts more attractive.

At the moment the only stat which drives the mount meta is the mount movement speed. Stuff like the HP pool, jump height etc are mostly ignored.

I believe that a lot of the mount system doesn't exist like mount abilities etc, but a quick fix to the mount balance is possible.

Rebalance the mount HP pool, and as long as the player is mounted the mount HP pool should give the player a passive base damage mitigation boost. This way slower mounts could become more attractive for certain situations, like combat and travel.

    Weeks on, croc speed hasn't been adjusted yet. I understand Intrepid has their priorities, I suppose we have to wait.

    Meanwhile in "totally" unrelated news I'm under impression the raptor mount's HP pool has been slashed by approx. 30 percent.

    I agree. Skinwalkers is such a cool mount, but I have not seen a single soul use it.... For obvious reasons.

    Absolutely. My personal favourite is the said raptor mount. People who were responsible for its animations and SFX, have done an amazing job. I love the idle animations. Someone put some heart into it.

    raptor best mount with jump height bonus :p especialy in desert with all those ankle breaker rocks :p

    I think the bigger issue the wide range of speeds at each tier. Also that rariety doesn't currently make them faster. All this is causing is people will all have the 1-2 fastest mounts for that tier and then slap a cosmetic on it. All the other mounts in each tier are pretty much useless.
