Had a thought about guilds, alliances and banners and how showing that would be cool.
So first, I know Intrepid is working on the guild and alliance system. Given what I have seen so far with our guild(s) an "external" alliances, here is my summary of what has been happening:
1) main guild: the one you are in... 30-50 people
2) "extended" guild ( extended/deep alliance ): A group of guilds, that operate as a single entity. (typically in a shared discord)
3) Temporary alliances: verbal/informal alliances between different extended guilds for achieving certain goals.
So first off, having the tools for leaders to manage these things will be important. I am sure you are looking into this in some way... but having in game tools to manage would be great. I would like to know who we are currently aligned with before we get yelled at for jumping a caravan ;P.
Visualizing that via a banner system would be super cool as well. Doing it Warhammer40K style or roman style or with something like this:

Where the center flag is your main guild, the right is the extended guild and the left is the temporary alliance. It would be cool to see imo.
Just a thought. who Agrees or disagrees?
