Something has definitely changed in the game in the last week or so. Prices everywhere are skyrocketing, at first i attributed it to new lvl 20 gear opening up due to advanced Nodes. This is not the case, i don't normally dab in rumors but its coming from multiple sources now, of a program that is allowing certain farmers to locate near their location, the rarities of gatherable nodes before engaging that gatherable. Every successful Gatherer i know has been stating the same thing as of this week, " Its becoming impossible to locate the static spawns of Legendary BLANK that are in high demand". I am talking about 20-30 people that i know across multiple guilds who farm hours upon hours in each day. What ever it is Fix this, prices are not rising due to just demand, they are SKYROCKETING from 10G 2 weeks ago to 15G then 20G to 25G and then last night 30G for 1 gathered item! This shit will kill the game even faster than Static spawn gatherable. I will not play a game that requires me to purchase hundreds of dollars of in game material every month just to stay relevant

this has become nothing but timers.. your friends are having trouble finding legendary mats because EVERYONE has a phone full of timers.. mmos like this are sweaty min/max games.. players that come to games like this try to get any advantage they can to min/max.. its got to the point where you cant do anything but rush timers or your not progressing as fast as others. one legendary braidwood adult tree can be worth half gold cap.. one tree is worth more then most players entire accounts ( probably ) if your not just running around filling your phone with timers your not winning at the end of the day. why spend 2 hours running a risky caravan?? you could have gained 5 timers in that time and just came back making 50x the gold for the day with no risk. MY LIFE IS NOTHING BUT TIMERS, PLEASE STEVEN STOP THE MADNESS AND SAVE ME!

Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a room. A rubber room. A rubber room with rats. And rats make me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a room. A rubber room. Inflation? In a game where you can literally print gold and gear never needs replacing? Nah, it cannot be.

This is not inflation, not at this rate. We have multiple gold sinks in this game. What's going on is happening so fast its either Duping items or running a DMA.

Gold is just becoming less valuable. The freeholds in Vyra were bought up by Polar abusing War Declaration rewards and other exploits long ago. Most have already bought whatever mounts they want and enchanted their priority gear items. After that, there's nothing else really to spend gold on at this point.

I'm making legendary gathering tools for sheets and giggles but I genuinely don't have much I'm even interested in buying now that we're 3 months into the game. At least for main characters.

Static nodes are a problem for a multitude of reasons but the price increases are just due to everyone having gold now and little left worth spending it on.

Everythings okay guys, it's alpha. This is placeholder. The fix is in development.

I want a New Realm that wipes every month with accelerated drop rates, exp, and materials.

Anybody ever calculated and approx number of "customers" they need to pay montly fee to keep developing the game after release? And how many "testers" leaving this test, never to come back as "customers" after release?

And what gold sinks would that be?

Yeah the whole idea of the "node destruction" was suppposed to replace the realm wipe mechanic as the form of death and rebirth in the realm.

Unfortunately for Ashes, the reason people like game wipes is because EVERYONE starts off at the same spot again. People like it when they are playing a fair game against others, that's fun.

But if the only "wipe" is a node, then the winners are just that much stronger and the losers are that much weaker... It's not a fresh start at all!

No incentive to keep playing when the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. More and more losers drop out of the game as this cycle continues until all you are left with is guild die-hards and people without jobs, which will not give the numbers Ashes needs to sustain even 1 realm with 10,000 players.

They need to seriously start thinking about how to cater to the crowd who only has a couple hours a day to play with some friends after work and help them still be competitive (character power-wise) with people in elite guilds and no lifers. I guess if they want to pvp they will just have to look for a diff game. This is why Guild Wars 1 started in the first place.

I wouldn't consider enchanting a serious gold sink. Most people will stop enchanting after reaching poor enchanting odds (I'm ignoring success scrolls etc) and even then enchanting has a max level. A real gold sink would be a need to craft gear due to full loot mechanics, or finite number of item repairs before it ultimate destruction.

Wait, which parts of this counts as a gold sink specifically? Genuinely asking because my usual experience is that these aren't actual gold sinks if players are crafting the gear.
    Stellar Devotion.

Exactly m8. The majority of the player base will be casual, semi-casual players, and if they can't have fun they will leave, and the game will die.

This is what I disliked in Archeage. The top 2-300 players dominated the server, and farmed everyone else.

These are what's called ESP Hacks and they are widely used in Survival games. I noticed someone was camping a lego node I got after the servers reset and the only way he could know to camp that node is if he was using a 3rd party hacking tool.

If you think this is bad just to let you know the people who make these hacks also make them to where you can detect and track anyone you want across the map as well as see what they are carrying.

They definitely need to get some anti cheat tech going before it ruins the game.

Could it be fixed if everything is random spawns both place and rarity? I have been gathering a lot and never seen leg iron or Rivicium, rest JM leg i got several times
