Game Crashes after Launcher

Hi all,

I was able to launch the game and play no problem before the 1/30/2025 patch. After the patch, when you launch the game, game crashes immediately in the initial loading screen at about 8%. No errors. Tried repair, reinstall, completely uninstall and fresh install. Updated GPU driver, bios, OS 11 updated. Nothings helping. AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, rtx3080, 32gb ram. Anyone else experiencing this issue or know how to fix this?

    I am having the same issue and also created a forum post. In case you haven't seen, this is a known issue as quoted below:
    "🔸 If your game is crashing on a black screen immediately after pressing Launch Game, you likely need to update/reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Visit Microsoft's website and install the X64 version for Windows 10/11."

    Perhaps try their fix they suggest. It did not work for me but it may for you. Let me know if you figure out the solution - I'll let you know if I find anything out in the mean time.

    Tried the MS Visual C++ update and reinstall, didnt make a difference. Even after the patch on 1/31/2025, still getting the same issue.

    Its not at the black screen when it crashes. After I hit the launch game at the launcher, in the first initial loading screen before character selection, the game crashes consistently before the loading bar reaches 10%. I guess there was a quick patch today, (2/1/2025) after I patched the game, no changes. Game still crashes the same after launcher

    Description
    After installing the latest version, I am unable to load into the game at all. The game crashes on the loading screen after going through the EasyAntiCheat screen, showing one of the pretty pictures of the building, and getting to around 10% on the loading bar.

    Bug Reproduction Steps
    Log in to launcher -> Patch the game -> Attempt to load into the server -> Crash

    Expected Result
    Successfully getting to character select

    Bug Report - Actual Result
    Game crashes at 10% loading bar. No error message is generated, just goes to the default launcher.

    Steps taken to attempt a fix
    Repair, Reinstall, Logged out of launcher and back in, PC restart several times, update graphics driver, closed all background apps I could, checked for Windows updates.

    Did some rooting around in the appdata/AOC crash logs, and found the thing it's erroring out on. Here's what the log says about it:

    i keep crashing too in the loading screen, it loads up at 50% and crashes, i see the loading screen for about 0.5 second before it crashes. Once i got the shaders to compile in the loading screen but it was when my internet was out...

    whats super strange is the loading screen does not crash if i unplug my internet when the screen goes black (after the easy anti-cheat finishes loading, and it turns into a black screen moments before the loading screen appears), it doesnt crash, but it also doesnt finish loading. it loads to about just over 8000 shaders left to compile before crashing but it does take about 5 seconds until it reaches this point and crashes, while if connected..

    IT JUST LOADED fully, but then says ""service request timeout. code: 33", then crashed...
