Basically sums up my thread here (https://forums.ashesofcreation.com/discussion/67709/verra-when-bigger-isn-t-always-better#latest) that scale of Verra is just too big and ambitious. It's like walking into an empty mega mansion. It feels flat, not enough fantasy, variety or uniqueness.

i think i get what you two mean ..i think.

at the end of the day the scale they built is just wrong and they needed to make things bigger otherwise the game will never stop looking wrong

It looks at times like for Example the " Trees and Forests " in for Example the Riverlands are so smol at times, or is it just me ?

Ashes' biomes and zones are dreadfully stale and boring right now.

The fact that for example sometimes the " Trees " look so small in the Riverlands -> is that they look so small from afar.
    ( Is what i think )

For Example -> when Sir Steven starts his Presentation here from around 2 Years ago,
around the 20th Second of this Video,

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHkMaNWiKg0&t=20s

Everything looks nice and dandy, now doesn't it ? ;) " As it should be ", is what comes to my mind.

    When Sir Steven,
starts RUNNING DOWN the amazingly (high up) looking Hill, around 1:37 in the Video,

i think the TREES look amazing even from afar. Not just nicely and gloriously swaying in the Wind during this beautiful, beaaautiful Autumn-Sight,

but they look big and sturdy. Like the World is so huge and alive around you. I freakin' LOVE IT !!!

And this is not even the Jundark. This is just the Kae'lar Riverlands. THIS IS how it's gotta be.

This is why i wrote like a Month or several ago,
can Intrepid please "LIE" to me again ??

Like when the Presentations from the last Years were just a Lie -> compared to what they have, right now ?
Please. Make the Lie become a Reality. I can not even imagine Intrepid failing with the new Engine.

I also love how the TOWER IN THE DISTANCE around 1:44 to 1:48 looks,
due to the blurry Depth-Perception and the glaring, blindingly bright Sunlight plus blurry Background looks.

    Hell,
i don't even care if we CAN'T OVERLOOK the whole Riverlands in the finished Game, like we can now. I love how far we can watch into the Distance,
but is this even necessary if it makes the Game look so small ??

If it makes the Riverlands so small ? Or New Aela, from afar ?
Or the "World-Tree-like" Node-Tree, from Aela ? This gigantic, beautiful thing ? Which looks amazing even as it seems to be dead and dry ?

This is not wishful thinking. The Evidence is in the Presentations. The Potential of this Game is AAABSOLUTELY colossal. Just with a single Decision of how they decide the Perspective of the Players to look like, when these look into the Distance,
they can generate so much Excitement and SHEER epicness!!

when Sir Steven starts to look into the Distance around 1:53 - and even compliments the amazing and awesome View himself,
there is also no Question what for insanely glorious, epic Views they can create just by some simple Fog- and Cloud-Play which can be integrated into the Weather System, now can it ?

And Yes. I am aware they can have and decide that the Kae'lar Riverlands can have "clear Days" as well. Without any fogs or masses of Clouds moving through or above it. That they can have dry, sunny Summerdays for example.

Plus of Course when around 5:11 Sir Steven and the others approach the Freehold -> simply the falling Autumn-Leaves during - well - Autumn, also make this View so much more beautiful when they enter the Estate of the Freehold.

Of Course -> the whole Landscape in that Presentation might have been nothing but a gigantic Placeholder just for this Presentation -> and maybe is nowhere anywhere anymore in the Alpha Two,

but this looked just so much more epic and grand - and that was not even anywhere near as much work i bet as Sir Steven and his mighty Crew have put into the current Alpha Two Riverlands.

And i don't think i need to mention the awesome Weather-Preview even like a Year before the Freehold Presentation.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYN5PWlST4Q

At this Point i worry only that they might scratch things and do not plan to make Ashes of Creation the big, "immersive ingame-World" Epicness that it could be - and should be.

    Once again,
Sir Steven's Words resound and echo in the back of my Head ... ...

" Right now, this what You see right now, is the worst that Ashes of Creation will ever be " - or somehow like that. I just hope that Sir Steven keeps in mind what he said back then and realises and implements all the colossal Epicness which he showed that Ashes of Creation can easily have.

This has all probably got something to do with the fact that filling a game world this size will take them another 8 years of asset development if they are going to create some of the scenery presented in previous posts 😂

I have been an advocate for them reducing the world size for quite a while, when I heard they were increasing the map size i shuddered at the thought.

If they decrease the map size, they will increase player density and will enable the environment team to double their efforts on existing zones to start filling them with unique and inspiring content. If the game is a success there's always expansions that can increase the size of the map.

Bring the environment teams focus onto building a world teeming with life & fantasy rather than trying to fill an absolutely gargantuan world that will likely feel devoid of that artistic flare we so desperately desire for Verra to feel unique, right now it feels like I'm running around an AI generated version of Yorkshire.

I a 100% agree with this. I've been saying the same for a while. I think increasing world size even further was a very bad idea. They already have issues filling the current zones, how on earth will they fill all the rest? Not to mention there is no real "fast" travel or anything. People will be scattered throughout and I doubt the world will feel all that populated.

I also definitely agree that right now the environment looks AI generated, like it has no heart, or soul. Which is a shame because I play MMORPG's to get lost in another world. I cannot get lost in the world of Verra at all right now.

A lot of people started to realize that the world is empty and with empty i mean no richness in the world. There is trees, bushes and flowers randomly placed within the zones, its nothing special you can feel that Verra is all the same, flat land with ALMOST exact same MOBS but with different level.

Yes the devs is aware of this but the only way i can see that working and succeed on release before 2032, and yes i said 2032 because the game is far from ready, the questing, (with questing i dont mean like other boring mmo going from kill A, B talk with C, return to D, and people don't realize how long time that takes.
Add richness into verra, (not ai generated low quality stuff) we talking real polish with heart and sweat.

What is the solution for this?
Keep the map size but on full release make half of the map only, and FOCUS on that, polish it and make it a charm that wants you to live inside that world, AND THEN release the next part of the map as an expedition when its ready.

I know intrepid wants to release the full map and i can see why and i love it, the problem with that is time and it's running out. Why? because phase 3 starts in august 4. and it should be up for "at least a year" i would say 2 years, beta 1 and beta 2 will be shorter, around 3 months each most likely so on paper maybe 2028 Q1. There is no way on earth they have that time to polish the game within that period. I wont see the game for full release until 2032 if they really want to make the game look outstanding and beautiful and we are talking about graphic and gameplay, ui, etc.
