Having Crowfall vibes 😞

I hope this game doesn't go like Crowfall did. It had huge hype but it took a long time to come out and when it did everyone forgot about it. I know there's a lot of testing going on but man i hope it doesn't fall into the trap.

I'm waiting for it!!!!

perpetual development would be a costly error especially if AoC doesn't really offer anything unique within the MMO genre

    It's aaaalmost funny, because ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... i NEVER - heard about Crowfall before.

Right now there can impossibly be less than 100% doubt that no one will know of the Name Ashes of Creation when this Game nears it's finished Release State.

But just to be sure, a bit of Advertisement should be done once the Game reaches it's Beta Phase. ;-3

I am in the guildless Guild so to say, lol. But i won't give up. I will find my fitting Guild "one Day".

Hello! Ashes of Creation is taking a very different path. Intrepid is doing something rare: full transparency, real community engagement, and building systems that are meant to last, not just impress at launch. The development is slow, yes, but it’s deliberate and deep.

This isn’t a copy-paste MMO. It’s a project that’s actually listening and iterating during testing. That alone already puts it ahead of where Crowfall was.

We're still in Alpha, but every test brings visible progress. I’d rather wait longer for something truly groundbreaking than rush into another shallow experience.

We’re in good hands. Let’s keep the faith.

Dont you dare compare AOC with Crowfall!
No but seriously AOC is not even close to having the risk of being as floppy as crowfall was.
The only two comparisons i can think of is crowfalls inability to introduce playing together and having a fairly large map without clear objectives to siphon everyone together. And the second is introducing casual pvp early on wich i think AOC should focus on, and i think they are.
Crowfalls first 5 hour gameplay was also waay too bad. I already feel like aoc first 5 hour is better.

That's funny. I never played crow fall. But new user experience in this game is really bad. Very little is intuitive and systems don't work together. By the time you level 10 your gear suck and your crafting skills can't make you gear for your lvl. Waiting for nodes to have the stations you need and now gear drop are even worse. Most people don't even know how to join a node. Node memberships and guilds compete with your game plan. It takes hours of reading to make out a path for your char. Forget many ways to lvl. I get its coming but your statement is not reality yet lol

Yes you bring up problem areas that mainly comes after 5 hour gameplay. I think the beginner area has a decent pace and stuff to do. After lvl 8-10 or around 5 hours in the gameplay experience gets way worse and you feel lost, I agree.
How can you say my statement is not real when you did not even play crowfall lol.

There should've been no damn "new player experience" in A2 AT ALL. This is not the time for that shit. Intrepid should be making that at the end of the alpha, when all the systems are in, when all the content is in and when they can build that newbie path with all that in mind and with the most experience on their devs.

    Open development was a mistake.

Open development could be good. I think the mistake was beyond the 'new player experience' issue. Despite how much it was said it was an alpha the interaction with the game/testing environment didn't feel like a test it felt like an early access or sneak peak. I assume this was done to keep people buying into the testing and generate more interest. Which just distracts from the actual development.

Thankfully the opened the PTR for everyone. I'll spend my time on that come p3. I'll test some progress stuff on the production server but I highly doubt I'll spend much time doing that until beta.
