Ashes of Creation – More Fantasy, Please! 🌟✨

Hey fellow AoC enthusiasts!
I’ve been following Ashes of Creation closely, and I must say—the world of Verra looks absolutely stunning! The landscapes, architecture, and environmental details showcase an incredible level of realism and immersion. However, I can’t help but feel that something is missing… a touch of fantasy magic!
Don’t get me wrong—I love the deep lore, the world-building, and the dynamic systems Intrepid is creating. But so far, most of the environments seem to lean heavily into realistic medieval fantasy. I’d love to see more whimsical and magical areas that truly capture the feeling of stepping into an enchanted world.
Imagine zones filled with:
🌿 Mystical forests with glowing trees and flowers that pulse with arcane energy
💧 Magical fountains brimming with shimmering, floating water or cascading light
🧚 Tiny magical creatures like living mushrooms, pixies, treefolk, or even sirens lurking near rivers
🌟 Sparkling lights that dance through the air at night, like in a true fairy-tale land
🏰 Elven cities hidden deep within enchanted groves, or ancient ruins covered in bioluminescent moss
I think some areas of Verra should embrace the atmosphere of a true fantasy wonderland—similar to what we saw in Poeta (Aion), the mystical forests in Guild Wars 2, or the dreamy landscapes of WoW’s Teldrassil or Ardenweald. A place where stepping into it feels like entering a different realm, full of wonder and discovery.
What do you guys think? Would you love to see more fantasy-heavy biomes in Ashes of Creation? What kind of magical elements would you like to see in the world of Verra?
That being said, i think the fighting animations are a bit too much and could be tuned down.
Would love to hear your thoughts 🌿🧚✨

More biomes and weather alone don’t necessarily create a true fantasy feel. That’s why I mentioned (a few) additional elements - an immersive fantasy world needs more than just landscapes; it’s about how everything comes together. I get that we’re in Alpha 2, but since the foundations for the final game are being set now, adding more of that magical fantasy touch early on could make a big difference.
Fairy rings/circles - could be some sort of interactive portal leading to an event
some sinister elements to the living world
mysterious statues (or creatures petrified)
ominous specters!?
as also some cute/mystical elements
fancy tea sets
acorn and amber/resin encapsulated flowers or insects pendant (would be nice have some jewellery with gorgeous precious gemstones like opal/blue moonstone/java moss agate/lavender jade...)
dried herbs/flowers, incense, fancy potions (bottles/flask), crystal ball, etc...
fancy vintage incense burners/censer
fairy/bird cage (antique victorian style) decorated with ivy plus flowers with also some gleam lights (more gleaming lights/fancy pretty lamps around the node pls)
punctularia atropurpurascens (more mushrooms and fungus as over trees bark/nurse Logs as rocks/stone)

I understand immediately. There is still Room for so much more. And maybe i should dare say : There SHOULD be more.
While i have heard about a "magical Season" for Verra, right next (or inbetween, randomly?) the four different Seasons we know from our real World,
Yes in a World filled with a magical Essence "literally" called Essence - it wouldn't be too strange to see something like tiny, glowing Fairies fly around sometimes - right ? Similar like the glowing Dots for Fairies in the Legend of Zelda Universe for example.
Or see Creatures, Beings - which are clearly "Chimaeras" - for Example the Gryphons which are in the Game already.
The Magic-Aspect can indeed need a bit of Enhancement.
Aurora Borealis ? Man i can't wait to hopefully see this in the colder Biomes.
Or just m~AAAAAAAAAAAYYYBE -> during Winter-Season in Biomes like the Riverlands or the Anvills. I am aware the Climate Zones of Verra don't make Sense compared to our real World. But i still hope to see such awesome Sights in the Game.
Well well well - worry not. I bet the Elven Culture/s will also have a cool Biome for themselves. Same as the Anvills are apparently very marked by Dwarven Past, Infrastructure - and Culture.
And of Course -> then there is still the Elven Cities which the Players will be able to pull and build up by themselves ... ...
Agreed. While i am 100% confident we will definitely see this with the Underdark/ground World of Verra, i hope we will see magic-like Places everywhere else as well.
Yes.
I am confident the Elven-like Biome/s if existing will be the most magical-seeming Place. Maybe this is just me and my classical Image of magical Elven Forests and so on - but i bet it will be more magical than the more practical Dwarf-Area where amazing Infrastructure that shape and influence the Landscape.
I hope we will fight one Day :
GIGANTIC ( World-Events ) Armies of either : Demonic, corrupted Entities. Or maybe a Dragon-Invasion of several, huge Dragons banding together because they are pissed and angry with the humanoid Races claiming so much of Verra back for themselves.
Or maybe a HUUUGE, dreadful Army of Undead - hellbent of erasing all Life on Verra - and add every slain Humanoid to their Ranks. Similar like the Undead Army from Game of Thrones.
Or maybe a huge World Event in which we try to fend off a huge Number of NPC Naval Ship Attackers which are Pirates. Maybe even Invasions from the Moons around Verra - also most likely done by corrupted Beings like the corrupted Ancients.
Much PvP and huge Battles are appreciated. But i also hope we will face huge PvE-Challenges as well. In some Events we can even become the "Monster-Armies" ourselves -> with the Monster Coin System.

I am in the guildless Guild so to say, lol. But i won't give up. I will find my fitting Guild "one Day".
And which Sir Steven and the Others probably want to include in the Game beside the four different Seasons ?
