Drop the hammer

If we dont perma ban people who keep cheating and exploiting. It will just have others feel free to do much the same. Its time to let people know this is not worth it. These should be confirmed reported and not used.

Blown past falling sands…
People exploiting with no repercussions less than a week after Steven made a big post specifically stating that exploiters will be permanently banned is such a joke.
Won't have a respite till every single polar exploiter is punished
Edit: this is from this phase when they mysteriously managed to outlevel everyone in 2 (two) days
Keyboard warriors ought to just git gud ffs.
one pic is hardly proof of cheating or exploiting. here are a few reasons just on this pic alone as to why. being able to kite a mob =/= exploiting the mob to where you stand still and take no damage. kiting is a skill and learning the terrain and mob pathing is not exploiting, its basic gameplay.
this is a bad picture taken with an angle and timing that makes it seem worse than it is.
There's literally nothing mysterious about it. 3 members of the 2nd group of 8 to hit 25 in the world streamed the entire 1-25 on twitch and have vods enabled. They were like an hour before the 1st group.

Miruku is the 3rd that streamed it, however I don't have his twitch name.
I don’t think it should be a joke.
I would love for him to disregard the “care bears” on his team who advise against it and make the names public. People deserve to know who is exploiting and what consequences they face.
Punishments should be harsher and delivered more quickly.
This is my personal feedback, shared to help the game thrive in its niche.
if i get banned then the game wasn't worth paying monthly anyway.
rules need to be applied to everyone equally.
i think it's pretty clear exploits were used for personal gain. to whatever degree. i seem to remember that this wasnt supposed to be allowed.
so ya, now where all waiting for intrepid to set the example.
I would imagine they might move against those who really break any of the game systems, act maliciously and/or disrupt their services.

leveling to 25 in 25-30 hours was doable in p1 and p2. leveling fast requires a constant party. leveling in p3 is harder for sure, but if you spent lots of time in the ptr figuring it out, then you could do it fast. also, having a full party 24/7 kind of makes up for not having too much gear.
I kind of agree, up to a point. If you find an exploit you should report it and stop using it. Continuing to use it, after Steven has put out on multiple occasions not to do so should result in a permanent ban and non-refund. At that point your not helping to test, you are actually doing more harm then good to the game. And intrepid not taking a harsher stance on this.
It's alpha, so I don't care right now, they should do what they think is best. If you don't like it, in alpha don't play/test that's how they'll know exploits are actually affecting testers. I've already invested, and I would still if I haven't yet. Report, post, and move on I say.
When it launches if there are exploits or rmts I'll take a break until Ashes of Creations releases as Phoenix Reborn.
But I don't know and I'm not going to make any accusations against any players or Intrepid.
Here's what I do know. And this is only in the context of IF Intrepid is sanctioning or ignoring cheating.
You won't be able to hide it Intrepid. I promise you, you won't be able to. It's a far different environment now than it was 9 years ago when you started making the game. Gamers aren't as clueless anymore. Cheating is out of control across all genres of video games. And people are aware now. It's not a question of if people are cheating, it's just how many and how bad.
There are multiple youtube channels dedicated solely to catching cheaters. And that they do. There is evidence in some games, Escape from Tarkov for instance, that 50-60% of the player base is cheating. Didn't Dr Lupo get busted for cheating in freakin CHESS? lol, I dunno that's what I heard. But the cheating is everywhere. People even cheat in single player games.
And this isn't just kinda run of the mill, "oh let me just cheat a lil bit" kinda cheating. These cheaters get the same feeling of accomplishment beating content that they would get if they had done it legit. In other words, it makes no difference to them. There's literally no moral compass present. Unironically, the meteoric rise in cheating aligns pretty well with the rise in mental illness.
As others have said, once that stain is on you as a company, it is near impossible to get off. To get it off might be a taller task than the making of the game itself. You could have made a cozy housing simulator game. But you have made the exact kind of game that will people want to cheat in most. I hope you're ready to deal with it head on.
A couple Intrepid employees have responded to a couple of different threads here on the topic. They said that if you see cheating, provide evidence of it. That's reasonable. But it can't just be on the players. It is extremely hard for players to acquire that kind of evidence. It primarily falls on you Intrepid to police your own game. Medium to long term, we'll know if you are. I can't stress it enough. We'll know. We'll know. There's nothing you can do to change this fact. We'll know.
Ya i have been doing a deep dive on this. After spending time in Ashes discord and hearing this topic going on non-stop. I have been waiting over 10 years for a game like Ashes to come along. I'm getting old, I cant wait another 10+ years. If IS rep and wrecked this is the real scare. Steven and IS will have a long road to travel to get good with gamers again. I also 100% agree, players should say something when they see it but this is 100% on IS and the really deep data they claim to have better then any other MMO to work. They have their heat maps to zero in on the data.
