Rarely I played a PvP MMO where every character was looking the same "unshaped" grey/brown form with a cape…
Its almost impossible on PvP to select the proper target when you get engaged, everyone wear a bow, or a greatsword, outfit aren't distinguable at all from Cleric to Warrior or Bard. All race share the same animation, and the same color pattern.
As a PvP player who look forward mass encounter etc this is a huge issue, it's worrying this this havent been adressed since previous Alpha already…
I understand the whole issue comes from how the equipment system works were classe can basicaly use anything without penality.
Also difficult for some reason to manualy select the good opponent because of the amount of visual effect and mobility. (No i wont cycle with Tab through the 8 enemies and mobs around….)
Add to that monsters are doing an insane amount of damage, wich will always resulting in the party getting engaged to have a crazy disavantage in these small designed "dungeon" crowded with mobs.
Imo the whole equipment system has to be reworked(even if i doubt i will be thing) but seriously the whole 2nd weapon stats thing is dumb, Cleric shouldn't use bows, Ranger shouldn't use greatsword etc…
However, what can be instanly adressed now is the frankly stupid hooded citizen cape/hood gift. IT NEED to be removed, and outfits have to be way more distinguable from each other with more colors and better texture.
You want mass PvP dear Steven? then something has to be done, you cant have all class and race sharing 80% of animation, using the same outfits, using the same weapons skin etc.
-Give slight RACIAL STATS ADVANTAGE for each class archetype, to "push" players to make coherent decision without forcing them. Orc, Dwarve etc would be more likely to play fighters/melee classes, elven Mage or Finesse classe, humans could be the middleground etc.
-Give armor set DISTINCT COLOR PATTERN and shape, no cosmetic BS OVER STUFF.
-Reduce the amont of VISUAL EFFECT, specialy from the Bard and Mage.
