Hi guys. I don’t know if it’s just my natural hate of change, but man I really hate these new forums. How do you guys feel about them? Completely killed my desire to participate.
I have yet to figure out how to actually post in the alpha II section instead of the general section…. all my posts end up in the general section. It is impossible to change that somehow. At least it's not obvious enough for a blind idiot like me apparently. So yeah, forums kinda borked i gues.
They are trash, yes.
they're better now without that initial gradient border. but somewhat difficult to navigate. I have been away for a week and i wasn't exactly trawling through the forum so hopefully reorienting shouldn't be a huge chore.
Guildies are strugglin', I quite hate them myself tho trying not to.
But the reason given seems reasonable so like many things in life we just gotta live with it until someone implements something better.
what was the reason given?
I just hope the person that decided this forum thing isn't making any decisions for the actual game.
Reason given was that the previous forum software was reaching the end of its support, basically that there would be no updates and probably no security fixes, etc.
Ironically I would find/cross-quote it for you, but only if we were on the old forums.
It's pretty darn shite. And looks terrible.
I hope this was not intentional to kill the Desire to be here. I can understand when Steven and his Team don't want to read as many Complaints - but this can also work against them when People just decide to give up.
I liked the old forums better.
These ones just don't feel right. Maybe I am just too used to what we had.

I would love to understand how that's happening, if you could describe what you're doing/seeing.
We will also be making adjustments, so if you can articulate what's bugging you about the new look, we can try to tackle things. I know the editor and quoting were top of mind before our break.
Yeah, the Quoting feels like a big one.
Also it was nice to see the "Last comment by…" next to the new posts.
Links that actually link to things, rather than just sit there as white dumb text 🙂
In the meantime, if you use the rectangle with the arrows in it, you can put the link in there, and it embeds it for you. Not quite what we're used to, but it's a link, right?
I believe this will prevent multiple post on the same subject and help the intrepid team what is most important to the testers. Create more distinct separated sub groups for more targeted feedback.

It seems to have been fixed. In the Alpha Forums there was no "new post" button before, directly within that, i gues subfolder? Or at least it didnt show up in my browser (Opera GX as the issue was active). When i started new threats, i had no way to choose where the threat would be posted, so they all ended up in the general discussion section.
And normally i would always simply agree for this single fact alone, lol. But damn THIS change here is real pain in my eyes. 😣 😅
