Are classes Genderlock??

Lateley there are many games, that have lots of genderlocked clases, and i like to have the freedom to chose the sex of my character, in the wizard video i only see female wizard, is going to be male wizard too? i hope yes.

    Race and Class are not gender locked as far as I'm aware :)

    Sadly there are quite a few of em these days. Like TERA and BDO. Although I give BDO a bit of buffer cause a man literally can't be a Valkyrie lol. Other lock out are honestly just restriction placed for either less work required as having to remodel movements for some rigs would be a pain probably. 

    Or just to force a perspective I guess not really sure in totality it just seems like an arbitrary restriction.

    I will say though that I'm kind of a fan of racial locked classes if it is for a lore reason. For example in Vanilla WoW only certain races can be druids, paladins and shamen because the lore dictated it. Some races didn't have mages because their race wasn't magically tuned, something like that I really don't struggle with.

    I enjoy the freedom however to let anyone be anything, but there's something cool about restrictions because of lore in my opinion.

    Some people like to play against type and even against "best build" classes.  I like the freedom to not have to be cookie cutter.

    Then Blizzard retcon'ed their lore and now there are far less racial restrictions.  Disappointing and shocking.  I mean, Night Elf Mages?!?!?!  Heresy!  And Tauren Paladins?  There were SO many "Holy Cow!" jokes going around at that time.


    ** Yes, I know they Night Elves had used arcane magic in ancient times.  But they had banned its use.  Now, it's being allowed again?  Just wrong.

    There is no gender locking, race locking, class locking or weapon locking. All of this has been stated by the devs. They've also said that everything is subject to change.

    Trans women should be able to be Valkyries.

    Path of Exile is gender locked but I am quite happy playing a witch. I don't think AOC is but I would not be put off playing it because of it.

    If it has reasonable premise like that I usually let it slide too. Or a story has a main hero whose a certain gender sure it's a part of the story changing it's basically slapping people who wrote it in the face. Limiting for the sake of doing so is a bit bigoted though.
