Every character will have an icon on them (similar to a buff/debuff) that will indicate their armor type (plate, leather, cloth) and tier (poor, uncommon, common, epic, legendary, etc) (View Post)1 -

Since we don't know all the spells, all the augments, etc, there is no way to know. Summoner/Ranger or Mage/Ranger might be what you are looking for, but we'll have to wait until Alpha 2 to see. (View Post)1 -
