I think the gameplay balance is based on land movement only. Flying mounts would require air combat pvp. (View Post)1 -

Don't worry about them. They are not PvP players. They just want to reach fast and safely dungeons and raids. Maybe years after release, new gameplay mechanics will be added. (View Post)1
