New web page, small issue

CadacCadac Member, Alpha Two, Early Alpha Two
If I open the new web page, and click on Forums, a second tab with Forums will propagate. If I have a second tab open already, I just open the preexisting second tab, and no Forums tab will appear.

    Hi cadac

Thank you for the feedback, I will pass this onto @MargaretKrohn to deal with. I'm closing this thread now but if you have any other questions please feel free to reach out again.

  • Reopening this so I can ask some follow up questions @Cadac !

Would you mind sharing what browser you are using?

Also just to clarify, we purposely have it so that when you click the "Forums" on the Ashes of Creation Bar, it will only open a new tab if you do not already have the Forums up. If you have it up, we just refresh the Forums page for you in the tab that you already have it open in. (This is to make it so you don't get a bunch of the same tab.)

You can always Right Click "Forums" and select "Open in New Tab" to force this function.

Does this clarify the issue for you, or is something else happening? (Just want to make sure we resolve your concern before we close this thread.

I am using Chrome. I just noticed that if the new web site is the only tab (main page not forum), and I left click on Forum, a new tab with the forum opens. If the new web site is my first tab, and I have a second tab (any other site), and I do the same thing I simply open the original second tab, and no forum tab is added to the browser. I was just expecting that a third tab, with the Forum would be added to the browser in this case. Not a problem, just not what I expected.

I found what I did. Having the new site open, and having opened the second tab (Forum) if I have navigated away from the Forum site on the second tab, and then go back to the new web site on tab 1, and l click Forum, the second tab is opened whatever site that may be.
  • Thank you! Our lovely QA team now has the repro steps we need in order resolve the issue.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention @Cadac. I'll be closing this thread now as we are working to resolve the issue.
