Beyond the Character Creator - Individualizing your Character (Dyes, Layered Clothing)

The character creator looks great and you can tell they care about making a game that encompasses the best features of an MMORPG. I think another aspect that lends to defining your character and allows them to stand apart is the use of dyes and layers clothing.
I have seen MMORPGs take a stab at this time and time again but still, for the most part, are toned down features compared to one of the first, Ultima Online.
Dye Tubs with a color Palette
Clothes that you can layer - capes, robes, sashes, tunics, aprons, skirts/kilts, necklace, rings, bracelets, that are independent of armor and stack.

There’s a very old game called Avalon (or close to that) that probably had the best armor layering I’ve seen. They had something like 15 armor slots with 3-4 just on the chest. The only game I’ve seen come close to this is Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
I’d love Ashes to have that sense of ‘thickness’ with armor choices, but they are leaning closer to the standard mmo slots.
The original Guild Wars had a fair dye system allowed you to mix and match them to create new colors. Took some trial and error until the first guides started showing up.
Also dygz it does say "beyond" the character creator
Pretty sure Ashes design covers dyes.
Probably not costume layers… but…
We have something like layers for backpacks and saddles/barding.
Nah. What's the point of having flashy disguise magic if it can't be a neon blinking sign to avoid or come to specific people ;p
One thing I'd love to see implemented is a Guild Color Scheme where your guild can define a Primary, Secondary, and Accent color. So anyone in the guild can easily select the guild preset colors. Depending on if dyes have to be purchased, perhaps your 3 guild colors are free? Thoughts?
What other armor/clothing combinations have you seen or can you think of that you'd like to see in Ashes of Creation?
Other than being able to dye your characters armor. Please let this be an option for armor/upgrades on mounts as well
I fully agree. I'm very open to having a wide range of colors to choose from. But let's keep colors in the traditional color spectrum.
I have not seen these but could only imagine:
Furs to add to a cloak/cape, Cloak Pins with crest, trophies from kills (hang from belt, weapon hilt, etc.), embroidered emblems.
I think the end result of being able to layer your clothing is that it will also make armor sets go a long way without everyone feeling identical.
