you have run into a very strange bug or horribly misunderstood the labels on stuff. Either way you would not have lost gear in the intended design of the game. Killing a red player should never make you red. And if you did not turn red you should never drop completed items.
Nothing you collect on your characters matter and the developers have told us there is a chance they can wipe the servers at any time.
Report the bug and move on or come back later. Don't get attached, you're only gonna make yourself mad.
I would love to know what the intended design is though. I think it should be easy.
In the starter area after level 5, a node, vassal node, allied node, or a node owned POI, where that node is not at war with another node, anyone attacking a citizen of that node, turns red instantly. People can attack them without flagging for PvP.
Outside that its FFA PvP. Why all this corruption and whathaveyou? If you want to work inside your node in peace, all good, outside that all bad. May the best win. That should make the care-bears and the PvPers happy.
There is going to have to be a rule for citizens that haven't declared for a node, but I would say maybe have them protected in all nodes but no unowned POIs.
Should shave microseconds off every swing.
A chance equals Dec. 20th. They will be wiping the servers on that date.
They plan to wipe servers on Dec. 20th.
They may wipe servers tomorrow if they find something significantly catastrophic.
The first statement doesn't invalidate the second.
I got flagged for looting my own body. The current system, even with the new changes, doesn't change a thing and people loot PvE bodies without hesitation. Currently by the time I get back to my body there are 5 flagged people running around and I have no clue who did the dirty. I saw someone else die, then in an instant all the bottom-feeders jumped on the ash like a dog-pile.
I know this differs from your situation. Hopefully more changes to come.
As others have said, this (going red for killing a red) is not the way it is supposed to work so submit a ticket, this is why you are in alpha, report the bug.
