There are a lot discussions about weather 1200 players (4 guild alliances x 300 players each) will make the gameplay experience of small guilds bad. Thats the problem being discussed here. Since in open world pvp a zerg guild will have overwhelming advantage. And my idea was to somehow put the 2 sister/brother guilds against each other by in game mechanics that will make only 1 of those guilds get the rewards, while the other need to either accept that they get nothing… -

The size of guilds will be limited: 1) by the number of players on a server. Theoretically all on server could be peaceful to each-other. Bring Asmon and his friendly streamers onto the same server and see what server they shape. 2) by the number of players in a metropolis nation. We have maximum 5 of them with some nodes… -

Your OP talks about big alliances and not just big guilds. But even if we consider guilds, the only direct benefit to guild members from a castle is its taxes. Those taxes can be distributed outside of the castle-holding guild because Ashes will have free trade, so it doesn't matter whether it's one person who owns the… -

L2 guild structure literally separated people into casts and limited how many guild passives a certain cast would get. And that's not even mentioning the obvious loot distribution of "we have these 2 parties that are already super strong and have contributed a lot, so they'll get all the loot, while the dudes in the back… -

If you're talking about the mobile LotR then I'm not familiar with how their factions worked. Was there a free trade between factions? Were the rewards from content sharable of were they bound on pickup? Because AoC's rewards won't be BoP and the game will have free trading. So there's no game-based difference between 2… -

Well you are right.... but as you said i am looking half the picture, and that is exactly the HALF YOU DONT SEE. It doesnt matter if half the things guild/alliance does can be accomplished with outside of guild means as alliance between alliances. 1. Not true those players will join small or large guilds whatever ones they feel comfortable with the people. 2. If their goal is to dominate the server and they are on top they aren't going to be dipping out of a guild that is on top.
