Re: Corruption system and getting "the jump" in wpvp
What does mean "to get the jump"? I seen Steven describing the corruption as a bad thing but also as a thrilling experience in the context of bounty hunter trying to catch the corrupted player before that manages to clear the corruption. So for both red and BH, this can be a thrilling experience. Your system prevents that.… -
Re: Corruption system and getting "the jump" in wpvp
I want to NOT know if a player is in combat mood or not until he attacks me or until he answers my attack. Therefore it should be green by default. It is just a slight risk but I like it that way. A parallel flagging system like you described, prevents the corruption state and also allows more open world PvP. So it makes… -
Re: Corruption system and getting "the jump" in wpvp
Well this is kind've my point. That in wpvp getting the jump (an advantage) is fair. All I'm arguing here is that it has the potential to feel a bit janky. If person A opens up on person B (let's say they've been pvping each other all day, attempting to control resources or whatever).. then if A's opener is strong enough… -
Re: Corruption system and getting "the jump" in wpvp
Attacks on greens are far less likely when in a group xD You are missing the point with what I'm saying, players will do whatever they can to win in most cases. Meaning any advantage they can use in a fight they will use good or bad. Which means Ow pvp is low because of the consequences but sieges are high because of the… -
Re: Corruption system and getting "the jump" in wpvp
Is the target "willing" if they stop fighting? Cause afaik if an opponent taps out in the hexagon - he's no longer willing to continue the fight. This is exactly what happened in L2 (which had this flagging system). Like, EXACTLY the same. I've been on both sides: the attacker and the target. And many a times we've gone at… -
Re: Corruption system and getting "the jump" in wpvp
Present to a degree that it has insignificant impact on the vast majority of interactions in the game. Of course, you don't like the NW toggle system. Why did you think you needed to tell me that? Of course, gamers who play MMORPGs on servers designed for "PvX" are highly likely to prefer "PvX" servers. Steven plans to…
