yeah..i dont think its just the hair that is hideous lol
Re: A simple fix for contested grind spots.
This would give even more power to zergs than even the lawless areas will.
If these timers are known and pre-set, zergs will just roll over the spots, take the flag by murdering anyone within that 5min window and then move onto the next spot. Rinse repeat forever.
No lawless zone will ever work out. It will just lead to zergs overpowering everyone, because they could not wish for anything more than having a ffa genocide that allows them to progress ever further.

Re: Character Models
What is in the Alpha Two right now, can impossibly be the Races meant for Release.
Honestly. These MUST - be Placeholders.

Re: Steven, Please Rethink “Not for Everyone”
And that's exactly why, I'm sure, you can understand why I'm so damn worried about all of these changes. I'm watching the "last mmo" turn into something that it wasn't before and something that I dislike quite a bit.But even still, at the end of the day I feel like Ashes is the only real hope.
Hope they manage to deliver on the other promises w/o changing them completely too. The potential is huge, so they just gotta not fuck it up.

Re: ⛰ June 2025 Development Update Livestream Discussion Thread ⚒
One concern is the discussion about imposing penalties for losing in node wars. What was brought up is whether guild banks will lose resources if a node is successfully attacked. Steven’s comment was that losing should feel bad so that winning feels good.
I agree with Steven, but you have to consider the long-term health of PvP. Most PvP MMOs devolve into one faction or group controlling the server, and penalties will reinforce this.
You will need some sort of catch-up mechanic that gives an advantage to smaller guilds or disadvantages larger guilds that control the server; otherwise, you create an incentive for everyone to bandwagon with the winning side, which will ultimately kill PvP in the long term.

Re: Suggestion: Permaflagging yourself as combattant for X hours for better loot/XP/luck/quantity
This is my thoughts.
The game has lost any sense of identity it had, it has lost any nuance that could attract people that aren't just murderhobos, so why not go full steam ahead in that direction?

Re: Tanking has no incentives, only detriments to the player
This very much sums up how every single player who tried the tank in my community felt. On point, OP.

Re: Tanking has no incentives, only detriments to the player
One idea is to have the 25% material deletion and equipment damage only happen the moment you actually return to an emberspring, that way if the party can resurrect and save the situation no one actually loses anything.
So much yes. Having had 3-4 deaths in quick succession but getting ressed by the healer and the rest of the group surviving just meant I came away with a huge money debt as a Tank.
Imposing the material deletion on return to Emberspring would feel a lot better in all aspects.
