here is my feedback, take it as you will
this boss was previewed 3 years ago, and feedback was given at that time too, why would you showcase the exact same boss, 3 years later, with 0 new mechanics, and then ask for more feedback, when clearly none of the previous feedback was important enough to make it into any sort of change. not sure what happened here..
visually boss looks okay, a bit stationary on the movement side but that can be put down to being an alpha, the fog and dust or sun shafts were way to strong, i would guess most likely to hide the fact that nothing except the area of the boss fight has been remotely finished and has 0 polish, however i will say the sunshafts and lighting look really nice, but just not needed for this location
combat wise, definitely needs some upgrades, if not an entire re work, its basically the exact same as onxiya, a 20 year old boss, i would reccomend checking out some GW 2/ Final fantasy boss fights and taking ideas from both, that being said it is only a level 25 world boss, i do feel it was a bit easy though

All of those build features are purely horizontal, but you would not win the fight against him. You would most likely not even win if his gear had a lower gear score, because rps is against you and his build is your exact opposite horizontally.
Also... I dont like when elemental resistances are too powerfull... endgame in Elden Ring as a holy caster was shit, man

But the point isn't really to know if you will win or not.
It's to let you know (in certain games) that you are so outclassed in basic relative power that you should approach it entirely differently rather than trying to just adapt.
Yea, couldnt have said it better. I dont wana know exactly how strong they are, i just want a little heads up that has good visability. Thats why i thought the 3 star mob system works here. A buff icon is fine though. I can work with that.

Imo that depends highly on what the build difference limits are. In L2 you could have elemental resists so high that your opponent's attacks would do really little, but your elemental build would only be known if the attacker had practiced against several different lvls of resistances to their attack attribute.Being able to tell the difference between 'oh that's practically a legendary hero around here, I stand no chance' and 'wait this person's build dunks on mine' is kind of important, isn't it?
In other words, "the legendary hero" would be as strong as "the dude whose build is counter to mine". And quite often people would make several different gear sets with elemental resistances to try and catch people off guard, which would be its own kind of "skill" in the game.
Yes, knowing that your score of 100 is nothing compared to their score of 1k is great, but we'll already have that in the icons (well, supposedly at least). And I've been told that "nameplate" is the thing that you can see at all times w/o even targeting a person, so this knowledge would be seen at a glance as well.
I also personally hope that someone in lvl50 bis doesn't just annihilate someone in lvl50 base, but that's a whoooole different discussion.

This is why I said that seeing gear score lvls will not be enough to know if you'll win.
Also, I hate transmogs too and I wish they weren't in the game. But seeing a person's entire build is also not something I want. And the middle ground is "gear icons that tell you your target's gear grade", because they tell you their estimated power w/o telling you too much info (just as seeing their gear would w/o transmogs)

I love these previews, they are amazing.....just have one question, how is this gonna be effected by PVX?

To imagine that they have only completed half the active skills by this late date is just unreasonable.
Under your assumption would mean a total of 280 - 320 active abilities across 8 arhcetypes of which only ~130 will be in the inital Alpha II wave I, rising by 20 active with each of the two remaining archetypes for a total of 170. Meaning that at the end of Alpha wave III your saying they will have only finished between 50-60% of active abilities. Are you expecting an entire additional alpha and 2 more years to finish that? Or will it just get squeezed in durring Beta?

Are you somehow not expecting that?
Now obviously, the plan regarding the overall number of abilities may change, and it's possible that the 35-40 skills wasn't a statement based on some design schema they already did, but instead just an idea of how they would like things to work ideally.
Which is why threads like this are important. Letting Intrepid know that we might not hold them to those numbers could be helpful.

Soent years playing Archeage.Boys, the moment when a stronger player or a group comes to a spot where you are farming mobs, you will learn very quickly why that's an issue. You will be forcefully kept at 25% HP while PVEing with 0 risk for other side to go PK. Eventually, you die and get death penalty. End of story.
The game had full health displayed.
Never once saw this kind of thing happen. Never even heard of it happening.
I have no reason to assume it would happen in Ashes if they added in full health display.
