I wouldn't worry about it yet, it's very much work in progress.
Yeah, everything is WIP but I just want to give my concerns that they may be progressing in the wrong direction XD
Yep, of course.
It seems to change every time there's a showcase for some reason, so maybe they're trying out different things. Different seasons, different weather, different locations will probably all have different looks, whether due to lighting, saturation or w/e else.
I guess we'll see during alpha 2, so that's when we can actually give them better feedback.

I'm guessing the lighting rework / move to PBR could be the culprit here.
I hope they will make it more vibrant.

My current theory is still optimization. A showcase of one character with just a few mobs around is not the same as a party farming a whole location, let alone a full raid killing a boss.

Re: Question to the devs: arenas and server meshing
So basically, you just want a spectator mode for arenas? That could be cool! And maybe throw rotten veggies at the losers—just kidding, or am I?
Here's a guy who got the idea, also the server meshing tech saves performance
Re: Access to alpha one
At this point I wouldn't hold your breath since there's only 32 days until A2 kicks off anyway. But so far about 6k people have been invited to the NDA Alpha 2 spot testing and intrepid said that they'd move to try and have almost all alpha one testers in before the alpha 2 launch. Which is about 19,000 people
Its upto intrepid to determine if they need those people for testing though and if they do they'll send out an email too you.
Otherwise you'll just have to wait for October 25th

where do you get that number from, was that 19,000 active during A1 or just 19,000 accounts registered

Re: Agro but with Sight, sound and smell
RocketFarmer wrote: »So is smell determined by fly count?
funny but no, it's used for creatures to track the player. two things come into play and that's detect low hp (undead aggro) and scent tracking. mobs would stay on you and didn't have any leash range to it. the only way was to loose the scent or hope it didn't kill you while loading into another zone.

Re: Question to the devs: arenas and server meshing
I fail to see what this has to do with server meshing, but I will be really happy to learn about how these two things are connected, if they are.
Intrepid Network Team, if somehow there's a sane subcomponent of your server meshing system that could reasonably lead to this, great job and I look forward to it too.
What are you even visualizing as the 'UI' for this, though, Arya? Do I have to be at my 'local' arena to watch it? Is it something I access in 'spectator mode' while not logged in?
