Re: Alpha 2 Recommended Specs for 4k Max Settings
I haven't been able to find any recommendations for playing at 4k. If anyone has any insight that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!
Aside from not knowing what max settings entails just yet, are we talking 4k max settings, massive battles and 144 FPS or more? Maybe with DLSS and framegen we can get those numbers, but not even a 7800X3D and a 4090 will likely get that at native resolution. Unless of course the game is good at auto-lowering detail in those big battles.

Re: How Did You Join Your First Guild
With all the various pro solo discussions, I started to wonder how do players get into guilds? As group centric as AoC intends to be, having systems in place to help facilitate those critical social interactions in the first few hours of gameplay will be critical to the success of the game. So I ask you, how did you join your first guild? What do you remember about your reasoning for joining?
I don't understand why people are suddenly associating Solo with not being in a Guild.
Solo is just adventuring while not joined in a Group.
We can have plenty of social interactions in MMORPGs without being in a Group or Guild.
Solo is not the same thing as being non-social.
My first Guild was with Jens Anderson, my Activision co-worker who told me I should play EQ and run with his homies on the PvP-Optional Server. Don't worry about PvP. They would protect me.
But, I was working on UK time rather than US time. So, they were typically sleeping when I had free time to play. Which means I mostly Soloed deapite being in a Guild.
My WoW main joined a Carebear Guiild that ran the Carebear Challenge of reaching max Adventurer Level with 0 Kills. I mostly Soloed that character, too. Despite being in a Guild.
In 2013, I joined CohhCarnage's Neverwinter Online Guild from hanging out in his Twitch Channel during Beta.
I think a gang of us who mostly Soloed and Duoed end up leaving and starting our own, more casual, Guild.

Re: Hypothetical: Item loss issue & player expectations
Server-wide rollbacks - sucks but if it is a complete database snafu then there is very little else to do.

Yep, full server rollback literally as soon as Intrepid learns of this issue. And I pretty much agree with everything else Azherae said.

The mounts used in water are called "Aquatic Mounts". Anyone using "water mount" is just referring to these.

Hi Steven,
The roadmap for Phase 3 is still incomplete. Could you share more information about the missing content, such as the Underrealm and secondary classes for everyone, Are you planning to include these in the beta phases?
This was discussed during the Alpha 2 Roadmap Showcase, somewhere 2:13:26 onwards, by Steven: Anything that you see that's in phase 3 again pertains to the first few months of phase 3 beginning; and then after that, those additional systems will come online sometime between phase 3 and beta.

With Alpha 2 just within reach, when can the playerbase expect the Content Creator program to go into full swing?
I'm not sure if you saw, but they just hired someone for the Content Creator Management position. I imagine they will need time for onboarding and such, here is hoping soon though! So many apps to go through
Re: Splinter Topic: Local vs Regional vs ServerWide (vs GameWide?) Markets
JamesSunderland wrote: »Q: Do you have any specific opinions on how the Markets should work?
A: I do believe player stalls will have their place and utility in Ashes(even past lv 25), far from optimal even with alts like in L2 but still fuctional.
Realized that I was unclear the first time, hopefully it's not needed but...
I meant that player stalls alone or in conjunction with only local markets would not be sufficient for economic play past level 25. This is fairly irrelevant as a whole, because Ashes doesn't intend to have many/any situations where they're the only thing players can rely on.
Got caught up in the L2 discussion, and it probably wasn't fully relevant to even that.

Re: Question to the devs: arenas and server meshing
I obviously don't mind big in-person events either, the more important point I was trying to make is to avoid encouraging people to bum around at the arena all day, when they could be engaging in open-world PvP.I'm also kinda confused as to how this would work in-game. If it's just a spectator mode for literally any arena in the game - I'd be the opposite of Lae. I want daily arenas to be viewable, but anything that's rare and more important should require in-person presence to be spectated, cause I want those events to draw people to nodes where the events takes place.
That's how open world PVP becomes less appealing in the first place. People not bothering to show up for it because there are too many other themepark attractions to be distracted by, and the whole server realm is just everyone doing their own thing separately.
People will spend their time however they feel like, but the more risk and cross-node interaction an activity generates, the more appealing the game should make it with rewards and glamorous bling. Encourage people to seek out allies and enemies in the field as a daily activity, not sit around doing 1v1s. You can do 1v1s or 8v8s on tournament day, or while waiting for the siege/war to start.
