TAA Issue Fix Please!
I've been absolutely loving this game. Have been waiting for an MMO like this since classic wow. I know the game is in alpha, but the TAA on 1080p and 1440p nvidia users really turns me off. I'm constantly changing the settingsto get rid of the blurriness. Nothing seems to work besides changing my resolution in Nvidia control panel. Please before release fix this TAA issue. Thank you for being great devs and creating an awesome MMO!
Re: Why Exclusive Flying Mounts Will Destroy a PvP-Driven Game Long Term
This is what I was talking about when I said that zerg would just put their players there and prevent others from farming the location optimally. But the bigger problem with this will be the Non Combatants. Since if a group of non combatants go to your spot to farm, you cant kill them because you will become corrupt, but if you leave them there you will get reduced rewards.Mobile lawless zones would 100% be a tool of abuse and bullying. You'd create a tool for the very people you wanna nerf with this suggestion. So a solution for this will be some kind of Force combat zone mechanic.
Even if Intrepid do somehow figure out how to make unzergable mayor voting methods - the statistical chances are that the zerg will still have their member as a mayor. And now they have a direct tool to bully anyone they want.
And then if you decide to add even more limitation onto the custom lawless zoning - you won't have an anti-pver tool
This is why I keep saying that lawless zones are stupid and a bad addition to the game. Flesh out wars, flesh out the corruption system and use those to their maximum extent, rather than making tools that have far worse applications and much more potential for abuse by the people you're trying to stop with those tools.
Guess you got point.
And i disagree that if the majors are not zergable that the zergs will still have better chance to win the election.
I mean yes they will participate with most of the spots i guess, But the average Joe in zergs is much much much worse than any other player in any aspect. Be it pvp / economy or anything else.
The whole reason zergs are formed is because people who cant "win" alone group up to "win" by count.
and most of the best players out there will be happy if they manage to win alone vs 2-3 other players.

Re: Just another grind fest?
Hey Clappy, totally get where you're coming from. Right now in Alpha Two, mob grinding is the most efficient way to level, but keep in mind that this isn’t the final leveling experience. Intrepid has mentioned multiple times that questing, events, node development, and other systems like caravans and world bosses will play a bigger role in progression once the systems are fully in place.
Also, the devs have said that they don’t want Ashes to be a “theme park” MMO where you follow a golden path, but they do want meaningful questing and alternative progression to be viable. It’s just not fully implemented yet.
So yeah, the current grind heavy feel is likely temporary and mostly for testing purposes. The final game should offer a lot more variety in how you level and engage with the world.

Re: Welcome! Introduce Yourself Here
Helloo,
My name is Kassandra. I have been an MMORPG player since 2005. I love this genre and I am hoping to find something new and yet something similar that feels like home in this community and game. It is nice to meet you all. I look forward to seeing you in game.

40+ years of gaming, still going. saw pirate software playing this and picked it up. Thousand plus games over all the years i've seen. Used to run guild stuff back in the ultima online days, and the other mmos that followed, the many many that followed.
Re: Welcome! Introduce Yourself Here
The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.
Looking forward to meeting you all.. !

Greetins and Salutations.
Hello everyone and it is great to finally be here. I am a Sociology major at WSU and have been neck deep in classes all the way to my senior year. I am now a few weeks from graduation and ready to get to work on gaming while I work. No literally, I enjoy and have worked games in test and development since PAGDIG first got started. I like to work on building social systems, integrated cultural identities and many more world building features among other things. My degree is in epistemology focused Sociological sciences and a minor in Political Science with a focus on US and Asian relations. My longest project period must be RSI's brutal Alpha process for the last 10+ years, and this will be a welcome break from that... well, let's be civil.
I hope this will be another wonderful time learning and growing together to make this a wonderful experience to share with friends and family within our community.
Thanks for taking the time to read my meanderings and I hope to see y'all in the game!
~Cheers!
