  • not certain the secondary class has that much impact on the primary base class. The way I was reading their intent is the base class is always the core class just their abilities can be augmented with some abilities of a chosen secondary class.

so tank is always going to be a tank just whatever secondary class the player chooses can shape some of the tank's abilities. ie from death's proxy example a fighter could subspec to mage and augment the fighter's charge with the mage's teleport to instant charge. however the fighter doesnt become a D&D style hybrid fighter/mage with access to spells/mana/etc.

The reverse may or may not always be possible. so a mage sub spec'ing fighter may or may not be able to augment their teleport with a fighter's charge to add damage (stun?). perhaps it's a different set of abilities all together ie a mage subspec'd fighter could augment their mana shield with a fighter's riposte buff that reflects some physical damage back to melee attackers hitting the mana shield... for example.
  • I always end up playing a warrior/fighter so that probably what ill end up doing again. But i want to make a rogue/ranger or ranger/rogue, we'll see. Or ranger/mage if it looks anything like arcane archer from DragonDogma hehe.
  • [quote quote=14371]Warrior/Tank
    Tank/Warrior

    There is no other class. <img alt="????" src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/2.2.1/svg/1f600.svg" />

those may prove to be quite different classes :-p

fighter/tank - melee dps with some abilities augmented with tank abilities/buffs
tank/fighter - tank with some abilities augmented with fighter abilities/buffs

That's interesting, I really love the idea of that concept.

It's pretty demotivating to see so many rogues in this thread but I simply have to play as a rogue.
As secondary class I might pick the one which gives me the most manueverbility, like teleports or charges.
  • Cleric and Bard combo. I always play support and I'll continue doing so in this game too.
  • I was initially thinking Mage /Bard but it seems the melee classes will be receiving more benefit from the secondary augmentation process than say magic users, I mean If I choose Mage/Tank what do I get?..the opportunity to gain all aggro with a fireball and then a taunt at the end?..yey...more....aggro.
  • Ranger with the mage secondary.
  • Probably the same... Range / Range.

Whatever has the best range / damage combo.
  • Been a caster of some sort in every mmo I've played, except my short stint in EQ1, where I played a Shadow Knight. (EQ1 was my very first MMO, and loved every minute of it. Sadly I only started playing it a few months before EQ2, and WoW, came out)

Really interested in the Mage, Cleric, and Summoner classes. Also, Bard is very intriguing. Waiting for more details in delightful anticipation!
  • first off i love jack of trades, master of skills types... the type of classes with multiple ways of playing with a high skill cap, but if you focus on just 1 aspect like dps or healing you are short handing yourself. next i have to mention is i need to be able to solo efficiency & mobility, but at the same time i need to be able to provide my group something to make my team better. after all that i need to be able to heal... i hate relying on others to heal myself, but at the same time being a full time healer just sucks at soloing and i hate having to rely on others to be able to quest or solo, if no one else in my group is round to be able to group up. so i rather be a PvP Combat Healer.

I have enjoyed the Druid from World of Warcraft for example. being a able to fill in or switch to another type of the holy trinity to get the job done. oh we cant find a tank... but we can find a healer, as a druid healer let me swap specs to druid tank and lets pick up that healer, or vice versa. i love to have the basics of debuffing, buffing, crowd control, healing, damage over time, etc... being a filler to assist the main roles of the holy trinity. healer low on mana well take a rest let me heal for now or if we know that one part of a raid is coming up where the healers need extra help recover everyone after that massive area damage, well i am there too. this is also the same with tanking... we dont need off tank for this part let me focus on dps, but at the same time i cant just slack off, i should be support pillar to one of the main roles of the holy trinity may it be an tank, off tank, dps, healer, secondary healer, or even crowd control.

a few classes that have caught my eye are Cleric, Bard, Mage, Ranger, Summoner. i am hoping the cleric is not the only healer but the bard or Summoner are also a healing class and depending on augmentation, i will probably go with the class that increases the diversity of skills as a secondary. with that said i need to find the combo that gives the most variety of skills. currently i am thinking Bard / Mage
  • Empyrian rogue. I love Elves I love rogues. The secondary depends on a lot of stuff but I'd love to be a shadow/nightblade so probably mage.
  • I wanna know more about racials too. Like they hint at Py'rai elves using bows and stuff? I really didn't see a race that was magic savvy. I did see however that the second Orc race was astronomers...odd combo.
  • Dwarf, fisherman and mushroom hunter.
leaning towards cleric/bard or bard/cleric need more info on summoner but could be my alternative.

Summoner/bard could be, dare i say OP.

need to find out how Support will be appreciated in the PVE space. nothing worse than trying to lvl up with no dps.
  • aww Dorf bards gonna be so cute!!! :D
  • I'd probably go for that Ranger/Rogue or Fighter/Rogue combo, since I'm definitely trying to cosplay my username character :D. But considering the higher prevalence of magic in this setting as opposed to Berserk, I could see myself going for a Ranger/Mage combo, higher on the Ranger part of that combo.
  • I usually start off as a ranger type and then end up as a rogue. I would imagine I'd pair one of those up with tank or cleric to add a little longevity for soloing. Depends how it all evolves.
  • Goblins, please please or Gnomes I like the smaller classes. So Goblin Shaman, rogue or Gnome Caster
  • Dunir dwarf fighter/mage or fighter/bard, or fighter/cleric, depending on how that augments fighter skills. I wanna be a sturdy dwarf mining in the mountains, crafting shit for himself.

Of course, will try most, if not all classes. I just hope we don't get like 2 character slots with more unlockable via store. At least donors should get more.
  • Going to go Rogue as primary, probably Summoner if it allows you to do things like summon spectral daggers to throw at people and summon darkness to help you sneak around. Call me Knifedancer.
  • Like many, I will also play a rogue.

Depending on how the augmentation works with their abilities I am planning on:

    -Rogue/Mage
    -Rogue/Cleric
    -Rogue/Bard
  • I'll either go Rogue/Rogue(very likely) or Rogue with either Ranger or Mage.
I'm thinking about what their names will be , Fighter/Mage will be called spellblade but I'm curious for the others. Maybe Rogue/Mage will be called spellthief? Rogue/Rogue Master Assassin?

I believe that would be the case for all same class combination , like they're gonna be some superior type of that class ; Archmage for Mage/Mage and so on.
  • I have always been in love with the mage class. So either that or summoner (sounds pretty cool too). My boyfriend always goes for healer. He'll make sure I won't die xD
  • One thing i hope that tanks/meelee will have is some fast forward bashing skills, because they are slow and they are an easy target for all rangers and mages.

They "normally" are the counter of rangers and rougues but if they cant catch them, whats the point
  • Rogue Rogue, i want to stealth while i am stealthing
