love the game music  for my username and my  ign   Cowkiller
    Guess
  • My ign is always I,robot when I'm in virtual environments.
It goes back to my early days, in a mobile MMORPG.I was basically a regular friendly guy, just tried to befriend everyone, but then I ended up in the middle of two rival guilds and god only knows what happened, but my reputation plummeted. I decided, eh, screw it. I need a separate online identity. I remembered the robot hero in the movie I,robot(don't ask me how or why) and that he's basically caught in between humanity and the robots. OK! good enough!
  • I have two main IGNs that I use honestly XD My usual one is Merytato, which comes from the name of an imaginary friend I had growing up, and the word potato, because on the internet no one knows you're a potato. More recently, I picked up the name Lilynett because I like the sound of the name and it reminds me of a lily flower, which symbolizes stuff like virtue and friendship and all that fun stuff~
  • I have two names I use mainly one being stealth which I use everywhere and the one im using for this game will be nagash as I love the god of death in the war hammer universe
  • My first MMO was EQ and this is what I called myself. I wanted a name that would be easy to say, even in drunken raid nights.
  • I got alot of names, but this one I made when I was playing "for honor" its a mix of my name with a twist. Since then i sticked with it
  • My name is Jack. My computer is technically a box.
    Boom, done.
  • I actually obtained Isende because I was forced into a server switch in Rift, and the name of my main character was taken. Had to come up with a new name, and I've loved for years the names like Ysobyll, Ysandre, etc etc. Isende just kinda became one more of those, but it's an easy way for me to move between game worlds and still have some few people say "Hey, weren't you in TesoElite?"
  • Mine is because it's my irl name too. I also go with SmoomS a lot
  • I mainly go by Bowloch which I created when making my first char in Ultima Online ( no idea how I came up with the name tho ) many years ago but I also use several alt names too, I tend to make alot of alts
  • I used to be Amplified back in the SWToR days, through comms on Ventrilo, I single healed the entire Nightmare SOA(pre-nerf) due to our healer falling off the bugged platforms. Guild leader called me "Boss" with a draw so...My next character was "Bawss"

    Stayed with it ever since!!
  • Mine came from the card game yu-gi-oh my favorite card was Gorz emissary of Darkness unfortunately Gorz was taken so i just added a vowel to the end, if Gorzu is ever taken i try to add Ashaman to the beginning because Wheel of Time was the best book series ever written
  • I used to have so many different IGN's and ultimately after spending too long setting up a new steam account I realised WasteTime worked quite well and was available and its just stuck till then, although no time gaming is ever really wasted ;) But its been nice to finally have a static name throughout all the games I play.

Lol Everquest and Tool. What a coincidence.
My main name has been Saeyo Prayers since the launch of EverQuest in 1999. I usually have a few alts running around named Dissonance, and Kinork as well. There are some others, but those are definitely ones I use religiously.
Dissonance is something Maynard has spoken of frequently in his songs. I always thought it fit me well.

Mine comes from Everquest days, sometime between Velious and Luclin. I got into the game and at that time the Lateralus album by Tool had just been released.. so naturally as an unoriginal jerk I named my new bard Laeteralis. I've always been a fan of idioms that both don't make sense and make complete sense (like a deafening silence etc) and somehow landed on the term Nevermuse for a last name as my bard would be a great character but never end up as the inspiration for something great. So since about 2001, Nevermuse has stuck with me in general. Though I've become a bit more original with naming.

At the time I chose Virtek as a name, I played tank classes and only tank classes.  Started a new game and wanted to begin with a new persona.  I got to thinking: "My main goal is to intercept meanies that are trying to hurt my healer...I need a name that goes with that purpose..."

A vertex is an interception of two lines, which even gives a good mental picture of dashing to clash with a baddie.  So I jazzed it up and made it sound more like a person's name: Virtek

Years later, I found out it's also the name of a laser manufacturer so.... it suddenly became a lot niftier!!!
  • Most of my online names stem from a 100yr old book series that had a terrible hatchet job of a Disney Movie tarnish it a few years back.
  • Oh, people have so fun stories. Mine is a bit boring, it's just a nickname my uncle used for me + few extra letters (since the original one was taken already).

See. This is why I love this community
  • Possum is a name I acquired in the 8th grade.  My drafting teacher (once upon a time I had dreams of being an architect) gave all of his students nicknames.  Most of them were given early in the school year.  It took him an entire semester to come up with one for me.  One day he mispronounced my last name.  He paused for a moment, a thoughtful expression on his face, and as he repeated it slowly a few times, this mispronunciation morphed into "Possum".

Then he added, "Besides, it's fitting for how much work you get done... always playing dead.".

I kinda liked having been given a nickname, so I embraced it and have used it ever since.
  • My original gt is MadMan_NL, ever since the orignal xbox but I rarely use it now.
Wanted to be seen as some madlad or something, no idea, I was young and it sounded cool at the time.

With the release of the xbox 360 I figured it was time to update my name, came up with Terrorcookie. I didn't know how I got to it at the time I thought of it and I still don't. Funny how the brain works.. I still use it regularly.

Now as to Reaper Of Cookies.. Was because of GuildWars 2, it was more of a list of names I started using in the orignal Guilwars because they allow you to have spaces in your name. Started out with chocolate names but I wanted a throwback to Terrorcookie, so I figured I'd use cookie in there somewhere. Then I figured I'd use Reaper with it because at the time I liked Grenth a lot, one of the human gods in the guild wars lore. And you'd come acros a couple of "reapers of grenth" in the game.
  • I used to be SirGogoReborn but I am looking for something else, I'm just so bad at deciding...
    (Gauthier is my real name..)
  • I don't think I have a static name between mmo games. The name Autumn Willow is one I tend to use in most single player RPGs though.

Autumn Willow is the name of my favourite magic card and the name of my 2 daughters. Autumn and Willow.
  • My IGN was inspired by Cipher from the Matrix. At first I played with Cypher D. as a play on Decipher. After sometime, I shortened and jumbled in to Cyreph, as all forms of Cipher is always taken. My female IGN is Ceryph.  :)

such a heartfelt name and it's also includes my favorite season and tree

They are, by default, my favourite tree and season as well.

And also the name of the first fantasy novel I read, Dragons of Autumn Twilight. That more or less got me hooked on fantasy books.
  • from the beginning of time in WoW I made a dwarf warrior and could never think of a name ..... so I went on Dictionary.com and typed in warrior.. the definition of a warrior came up as MAN-AT-ARMS. I was like I like that but I'll change the man to Dwarf. Then I was STV lvling with another buddy trying to get to 60 ! and he was like Hey BTW why did you name your toon, Dwarf fat arms.... I was like WTF I didn't its DWARF at arms and we argued for a few minuets and he said, "I'm calling you Fatarms forever since you hate it".. :(  I wanted to re-roll so bad and hated my character name. WoW back in the day took forever so this wasn't an option,in the end it stuck and I love it. The name had a fun adventure getting to where it is today .. so my nickname comes from my Toon name Fatarms or Fatty! Don't feel bad calling me that it's normal and I expect it. My friends IRL call me Fatarms and Fatty too.

Apparently when everyone looks at my name they see Fatarms first off anyways. I guess it sticks out lol, I don't see it but I get mass amounts of messages on it.. It will also be my name within Ashes
  • Mine has changed throughout my gaming... but ninja shadow comes from being called white ninja in real life due to being able to walk into rooms full of people without them knowing. Shadow is a RP surname I used in mortal online.
