I've got to say that this is my personal view too, some things I don't hold a great deal of importance too.... but exclusive mounts and cosmetics etc?
Shucks that's why I backed it the level I did, exclusivity of rewards. Having said that there are just ones I won't use.
It looks like the feeling of the six people who've responded so far feel the same way.
Ok, so I guess that there needs to be a little more thought from me.

Brainstorm required on any other ways we keep the forums alive from now until persistant Alpha?
I doubt I'd get a chance for any reward because I couldnt fly to England or anything like that too.
But if someone bought it and can't use it or don't want it, why would you throw it away instead of gifting to someone who would love it?
It's like throwing away food into the tras even though many people are hungry :P. Or like throwing away clothes you don't like instead of gifting it to charity.
The idea itself is good, I just doubt many people would like to give away their goodies, because obviously, they payed for them. But if there are some people like that, why not give them possibility to do so?
When you talk about tour in studio or sth like that and you know you can't use it anyway, I bet someone would love to get this opportunity.
I chose the pledge I did exclusively for the rewards I'd get, so in principle I choose no....although granted, I'm not hyped about some aspects of it and wouldn't begrudge others who would enjoy those rewards.
I realize some people can't afford to just hand over any kind of cash. Been there, done that.
I don't see anything wrong if some want to just give way the physical type items (such as dinner with the team) but there should not be a contest of sorts for them.
I too think if we really care about our investment in AoC we ourselves will find ways to keep interest going here. It has to be an ongoing endeavor and we need to keep promoting the game ourselves.

The same goes for a game such as this! We can contribute in keeping the ideas and forum alive as well as continuing to promote it in our own ways.

So yes, there are prizes and contests that I should be able to do and give away, but the general feeling out there seems to be that something more unique and non-KS exclusive would be better.
So whilst there's no reason for Intrepid to need to get involved, there's nothing to stop me from starting a discussion with the team and raising a few ideas of prizes or even seeing if they'd be at all interested with the scheme.
However they're all busy at the moment with the extension of fundraising, which actually negates the need for competitions to keep the forum community from dying anyway, folks are sticking around.
I might chat to them to see if there's anything worth talking about post June and the end of the extension.
also, there are some people(like me) who cannot afford to back at higher level, but I so badly want a phoenix pet.
If I manage ever to get a lich skin I swear on the Dwarf God(?) that you can have mine. Such skin would not compliment my portly being.
I mean I have the braver of worlds pack (needs better name) but any rewards for being active I would love to get
