Necromancer

Having past both the backer and the 3 mil.  would it be possible to see a necro Primary class?
Also would will we be able to change the secondary class, as Other classes are added to the game? (I need necro's to make a Shadow Knight)

Comments

  • They may add the necromancer in the game as a subclass for the summoner but as a main class we will just have to wait to see what the say.
  • The classes they posted on KS will be the launch classes wich in turn are also the sub- classes. So for release 99,9% that there wont be no necro class.

Ofc they might add a Necro type skin look the in game cash shop you never know.
  • But we still have no idea about the subclasses which is why I'm interested in the summoner as that logically would have the best chance of raising the dead
  • well they did say the subclasses will be the second class you pick from the primary class in a stream i believe to enhance your skills. so if i as a summoner pick a bard maby i can change my summon in a support healer.

they did say they might lets you customize your summon to a degree.
so maby make it look like a skeleton if thats possible?

Im geussing you can change second classes on the fly it would be a problem if your fighting a open world boss and your group gets jumped that you need to run to town to respec to your PVP setup. so if they ever add anything that could get you to be a necromancer it should be ezy enough when it gets added.

    you had me at skeleton
  • I could see a Summoner/Rogue or Summoner/Cleric have a "Necromancer" path. One of the ways it could work would be via an in-game guild. So, your Summoner joins the <Insert guild dedicated to one of the Dark Gods> and it opens up a line of Undead Summon spells.

    **double post**
  • I would play a necro class.. either that or destroy them in PVP with the power of the light!
  • the real question is... would you need to use cemeteries and/or the dead bodies piling on the battlefields to gather your minions? That would be awesome! A Necromancer just popping out skeletons from the netherspace is kind of... disappointing.

Of course you would also need a "friend" to sacrifice at the right occasion, backstabbing it or letting him die for the sake of having his corpse to command...
  • It's possible that Intrepid will design the Summoner to have much in common with what we stereotypically class as a necromancer. Until we have more class info it's going to be difficult to have these discussion but the number of possible class/combos is exciting and the summoner I suspect will be very popular.
  • Raise old post and do my bidding
  • Necro all the way!
  • Dam right
  • This is the road I will probable go down also.

I think Summoner/Rogue was mentioned as being the Necromancer archetype. But this, like everything else is subject to change TM.

Interesting. Wonder how the rogue fits into it? Not that you're privy to this info either as of yet. There's going to be a hell of a lot to learn and theorycraft with all these combos. Looking forward.
  • It should be summoner/ summoner
  • I wonder whether doubling down is going to be a boon or a curse? I guess the logical answer is neither, it depends on the playstyle/player. I just don't think we'll ever have that kind of balance. I could be wrong.

I just think its the logical choice as Rouge summoner is more like shadow magic with the summoning of shades and spectres while undead is more zombie wraths and skeletons

If it were up to you, how would you make Summoner/Rogue different to Rogue/summoner then?

Summoner/summoner is supposed to be Spiritmaster I think, which is pretty much the opposite of Necro, if you're into the FF mythos at least.
  • Just goes to show we have a lot to learn :3

Summoner/mage is heading toward Warlock I think.
  • I hope they show the class soon. really hoping sum. isn't going to be like an Elementalist  pet junky, raising  elemental golems
     all over the place

Question of the ages, for sure. I'm looking forward to Tank/Summoner, Tank/Rogue, or Tank/Cleric... but, if doubling down outperforms and more importantly, is more fun then hybrid specing, then it's going to make it tough to decide what to do.
  • After the stream... I'm actually wondering if there taking a page from EQ with the religion system and ramping it up.   As in like worship, a dark God and you can modify your skills to be more like a necro? They kind of made it seem like the religion system let you change certain aspects of your skills.   So maybe like worship a God that represents the type of skill set you're wanting to lean towards more and mod your skill accordingly?
At this point it's speculation...  but still
