Sometimes I feel so naïve and old. I had to go on a GameFAQ for Persona 5 to even know what that spoiler meant.

whatever. i don't understand the need to define what is acceptable for someone else as normal or happiness. to each their own, and if you can't accept someone that isn't you and most likely has nothing to do with you for who/what they are/want then all i can say is welcome to the modern world. the ride is going to get bumpy, hope you enjoy your stay

Two of my guild mates, whom are married to each other in real life, first met each other in the original EverQuest.  I don't know if it was love at first sight or not.... (she played an Ogre, after all) but their relationship went from gaming to romance.... and it's still a life of gaming and romance for them today. 

I'm happy there is a marriage system in AoC for purely selfish reasons on my own part.... I'm looking forward to seeing my two guild mates be married in this game world too.    It just makes me happy. 

Of course, for the role players out there, nothing would stop you from being married in game with or without a in game mechanic to do so.   But I kinda can't help but think that a "marriage status" would help some of the lady folk from getting needlessly "hit on" in game.  Is it bad of me to think that way?  Maybe I'm not giving people enough credit.

Now, the whole marriage between only 2 people is a shame though.... I mean, haven't they heard of "Dwarven Polyamory?"  Whose with me here?

Hah, know what's funny?  I totally wrote my post above while not having noticed the "same sex" marriage part of the original post.

But know what?  It changes nothing for me.

I like the idea of the system for the RPers and actual couples that play the game, if they are able to pool their stuff together it helps. It gets tricky once in game couples break up. I would have to see how the divorce court would work, or at least the exact system in place before deciding if I like it or not

I can always "use" a Queen for BoF.... .

But yeah Marriage system would be nice, I think there will be one already, they Mentioned King and Queens and Castles.

I would love to have a significant other within the game to build our future together sounds like a fun system.

I think they could do some really cool things with this.

I'm glad to hear so much support. I think marriage is a beautiful thing, binds two people together. Love is one, if not the most powerful emotion out there and for people to share that experience with others.

I would like it because I play along my boyfriend, so I think its a cute option. I however don't think it should give major perks like buffs to stats. I don't mind it giving the perk of sharing a house/freehold and being able to have rights in helping each other for example with crops or have a joined warehouse.

Yeah, joint storage is a good suggestion. His/Her and Her/His costumes to wear around the world. Gifts on Valentine's day. Instant teleportation to their partner for the duration of the honeymoon period. Probably more and better ideas also.

And I wanna add that marriages should better not be race locked either (so that for instance humans can only marriage humans) .. just throwin in out there

@Rumbleforge there is always more options than those two.  A group of Dwarves drinking, fighting and singing across the land.
The song goes something like 'Gold, Gold, Gold, Gold ....' and what is better it fits almost any tune.
