@AutumnWillow sorry no, Monk should be Cleric/Fighter
Oh, I was thinking more of an Asian influenced nimble kungfu Monk who is influenced by mystical forces instead of a belief in God. I'm Thinking that'll fill the role of the avoidance tank:
A tank summoner is one who must fufill the primary of a protector whilst having a minor role/summons flavour.
How crazy would it be for a Tank/Summoner was a Centurion, being able to summon a small squad of defensive shielders (minimal damage so as not to encroach on the summoners) to form shield walls, hook enemies over with pole arms to keep his party safe.

For some reason, the first thing that popped in my head when I read that last bit: A tank summons a pile of minions that surround an enemy, steal their weapon, and play "monkey in the middle" for a bit

this would be cool. I really like the idea of being able to summon or plant walls in PvP. I heard mention it was gonna be a thing.

I lol'ed at the image that was brought up in my head, when picturing someone getting yanked up in the air, feet first, by a polearm.

The way the game is going to work is you enter the id number of the subclass and what you would recommend calling that class. I will take your responses and add them as suggestions to the original post. After 1 weeks time, I will put up polls voting on our favorite recommendations!
Then, the following week, we'll name another set of classes. No jumping ahead! If you really want to name that Bard/Bard, you have to stick with us until the end!!!
Tank + Tank = Guardian
Tank + Cleric = Paladin
Tank + Fighter = Vanguard

Tank/Rogue could also easily be Fencer or Duelist
Or if not going the avoidance route.
Tank/Rogue Thug, Enforcer

minions + Tank
tank/fighter - Champion
tank/rogue - Shadowknight
tank/ranger - Warden
tank/mage - Spellshied
tank/cleric - Paladin
tank/summoner - Sentinel Keeper
tank/bard - errr pretty hard because they said a bard doesn't necessarily play instruments.. Warsong or warsinger seem obvious but to fighterish.. herald, prophet, emissary, courier, harbinger seem appropriate.
