A disappointing tone.
It’s disappointing to see the tone the forums have taken
since the last upgrade. I have largely stayed away but I thought it was worthy
of note. Open hostility is often the hallmark for a future cesspool. MMO
official forums often end up serving a vocal minority as other gamers simply
have no patience for anonymous internet heroes.
It’s one thing to disagree, have a pissing match once in a while and move on. It’s another to establish an accept tone of angst and hostility, often under the hospices of “passionate fans”. It’s beginning to manifest itself here. The game has a lot of potential and there are a lot of guilds looking at it as a potential new time sink.
Don’t let it become a cesspool of aggression, where the few, via time investment and quantity of posts run rough shot over meaningful discourse. “This game is X if you don’t like it doesn’t play it” is often the starting point.
Thanks for your time and best of luck, lots of us are watching!

I feel it bears repeating that disagreement does not equal hostility. Just because someone offers another view point doesn't mean they are attacking you.
And on the flip side, you don't need to go on the offensive just because someone said something you don't agree with.
Overall though, this forum has been a few levels lower in toxic behavior than most I've seen.
As someone whose spent a little time here since I signed up, I must say that this isn't the impression I've gotten of the community at all. I'd advocate that the majority (by far) of the threads have been mature and constructive discussions based on the limited knowledge we have so far, right down to idotic(me ) comments with a hint of humour.
Already, I could name half a dozen posters who I feel quite comfortable with and I'm getting to know more and more each day. If you have come across certain threads or posts that are impolite, unconstructive or downright mean then I urge you to spend more time, not less, and see that those kind of posts/threads/comments are not a true representation of the majority here.
I sincerely hope time will drain the cesspool, and if it doesn't send @Nagash a pm as he's very good at pulling things down to the under-realm
Perhaps everything seems so positive here because I come from the shroud of the avatar forums. Hahaha.
I know, as a long time MMO forum goer you never feed people like that. You allow them to dwell in their self creations.
if the post was a tough read I truly apologize. I thought it was pretty straight forward and direct.
Anyway, thanks for the replies. Have a great day.
And if you want to be heard, speak! Even Steven is not psychic, and there are multiple venues to voice your suggestions.
BTW I agree. *wipes off her KB*
I'm sorry you feel that way. Most conversations here have been informative and just that "conversations". Debates ensue yes, and people may have different point of views but for the most part everyone has been cordial and friendly and repsect that others have different views and experiences. If it was any other way I would not be here myself other then to read.
You can bet most of us if not will try to ward off trolls and doomsayers.
We have a great community forming here and it would be nice if perhaps you joined in more to get to know people.

"No! You're wrong! And you're stupid! And you smell funny! Trolls forever!"
*douses you with fire and watches you melt*
Sure some people are trolls, but it happens everywhere and it's just minority.
Sadly disappointed, he crosses the bridge with no trolls in sight
Devil's Advocate: Yes, there has been some crying going on, like about the KS, "forced pvp" and the like, but still that is a very small part of the forums. I suggest overlooking those posts for something more stimulating, like talking about what you might like to play and where you see your self once the game launches
Actually as this is about community, I think everyone ought to get in here. . . .
*community cuddles*
