I'm sorry short ones but I'll be a no-beard'er. Unless, the power of the beard wins me over but no ... No, I can't imagine that happening. No amount of ale can tip me to the bearded side.
usually i love beeing Humans as its RP and i like to identify me in my Character, so male, human and sometime i try that he looks like me, just more perfect
But since the different races will have different Attributes and things i will choose whats best for a Tank or fighter and make combinations what makes sense. Elf Ranger etc.
Whispers of darkness. Ominous dreams of ancient evils awakening.
I call on you, the brave and incorruptible, to fight against the growing tides of darkness! Now is your hour. There may be a day when evil triumphs but today is not that day! Heed my call. I am your deity of light and valor. Look to the light and follow me to vanquish our dark foes. I shall lead those with a pure heart to victory!
Crafting - What if a Dwarf can make indestructible gear, an elf can make lighter gear using less resources, and a human can discover a broader range of recipes? Then it becomes a choice between specifics. This might also classify under a different category:
Restrictions - Which race can do what things? This ultimately means that the other races can't do certain things, which I think is fair. I would love the fantasy of the lore to shine through the character gameplay, aesthetics, as well as the crafting. As much as I hate to say it, races shouldn't have to be "fair" across the board. If a Dwarf is physically stronger and can carry more, perhaps he would be better suited for a gatherer? Or perhaps the ingenuity of humans means you could augment your mount to be an extra backpack, with the risk that it might be stolen without pvp?
Environment - This could be in any category, really, but should be noted. If I make a "forgotten" subterranean race character, would he naturally be horrible at sailing compared to a human? Or perhaps a dwarf is able to sense gems and metals in the ground better, or an elf more efficient at gathering herbs?
Game-play - How impactful will the combat aesthetics be on the race between the classes? If a human female looks graceful in combat, I might be partial to it visually compared to a dwarf who looks more like a square with rigid combat.
It's not so much that I want to min-max things, but it's too early to see the possibilities yet. I want to be crafting focused, but I also want to focus more on the Sea-based content. If somehow it means that that it'll be most profitable to be an odd-ball in the field, or perhaps the most versatile, then that's what I'll be!
The darkness is an empty, meaningless void.
The ancient pantheon and the stars brought life and light into the multiverse. Through this, we created meaning. We are existence itself, for the multiverse would be nothing without us. We will cleanse the realms of your scourge and keep the darkness in balance with the light. You may hide in the realm of Europa where it is difficult for me to go in person (or 'in god,' if you will) due to inter-realm lag but I will send my most trusted archangels to deal with you.
I am the mage type, mostly ranged but not exclusively (like the hybrid-fighter you can create in the Elder Scroll games), so most probably I will create an elf.
Besides, it has been proposed that the concept of elves originated from the early humans in Europe witnessing short, fair hair/skin, longer living neanderthals, which were also more robust, so I think it works also historically speaking.
or tulnar if the design turns out to be really awesome. we only saw some shadows of them though
