Should there be a handful of addons in AoC?

let me know what you think about implementing addons into AoC, and if you wish to have addons in AoC, which addons would you like to see?

  • For a second I thought this was another thread linked to a thread by @Babe with a drawing in it. I was relived to see it was not.

I would subscribe to it if it was another drawing.
  • Addons can help in game, but can also be a pain. I've had addons where it took me several hours to work out and get the way I want it, then everything would reset on patch days...

I'm ok with a handful set in the game, makes it easier to use and I don't have to look through thousands of possible addons. Maybe core addons would be best like dps and healing meters, changing UI and action bar location and size.
  • If I'm not mistaken they said addons won't be allowed.
  • I don't want add-ons, but I do want a fully moveable/resizable UI.
  • The main reason for addons is that the UI is lacking in someway, good/popular ones should be absorbed into the standard UI options.  I tend to dislike meters as they can quickly become the overriding criteria for inclusion and can sterilize the dynamics of play.
  • I'd be a hypocrite if I said I have a problem with addons because I tend to be in guilds that require you to have them, but here's to hoping Intrepid really move the genre on with their UI and make it beautiful, innovative and practical.

    I'll drink to that!

  • To me, Addons would be for things they missed in the UI.   During the Alpha's, feedback on what is important to the community may sway what they include.  Although, they already excluded dps meters and boss mechanic add-ons because they felt it was necessary to be competitive.  I hope they stay true to that statement.

    Make mine a double!

  • I want that DPS meter so bad  :'(
  • I would like addon availability, however hopefully bosses do not have set timer rotations.  Also, I love DPS meters for allowing me to fine tune DPS builds, and for healthy competition within guilds.  I have seen DPS meters cause toxicity in communities however, and Steven said the same in a live stream.  Maybe allow combat log parsing in "test dummy" environments for fine tuning or competition, but disable combat log in events or whatnot.  Just a thought.
