Just speculation but normal mobs will never give you the challenge that a boss or raid could. I hope I'm wrong too but I couldn't imagine them making every kill quest in the game challenging.
In Lineage 2, I never did get to max level but near the top a 1hr hard grind for 0.25% level gain was a good day! No complaints from back then, but no time nowadays to repeat! Not sure how many other games had comparable grinds.
When you did get a level in Lineage 2 back in the day, it was an achievement!
@WinterAssassin yes, having played since beta, I think you are correct.
Many of the reservations players have voiced in these forums would most likely not be voiced from any community migrating from Lineage 2
- Grinding was insane, it required you to invest so much time to progress
- Obtaining gear was hard, same with making money in game at the begining.
- PvP in early stages of the game was brutal with full drop
- PvE death too in early stages included potential full drop too (nearly quit over loosing the armor to a farmer that ran off with it when I died and dropped all my wealth in one go)
- Raid were fun, large raids went for long times and were great fun
- Seiges were also great fun
I find it a bit hard to enjoy nowadays given the visuals are so far behind and no time for that kind of game play any more.If this game can replicate the old school fun that game had by even 30% I would enjoy.
Rather than all 8 billion of these demonic creatures are steamrolled by 1 guy in a trench coat using a piece of string as his primary weapon.
We know for sure that Ashes will be a subscription based model at ~$15 a month. You can reduce this cost down if you refer players to the game as you'll get 15% of their transaction costs (including sub payments). The cash shop will be purely cosments as @SaeyoPrayers has already mentioned. ^^
The devs want Ashes to be a long term investment and possibly a franchise. They want to stay away from p2w because although p2w generates cash quick it's not good for the health of a game long term - and Steven just hates p2w anyway *cheer* They are designing a game that they want to play too
Should not have read that as I was drinking.
